Wow...sorry it got torn, glad you were able to get it pinned down. The wind has been bad here today too.

My husband didn't like it when I asked him why it wasn't staked down in the first place... Like I thought it was. Hmmm...

I just hatched out my first chicks! Starting to save eggs again for another set. The rooster has 3 hens, he hates me and I hate him. He tries to spur me (and has succeeded) and I go in with a 4' branch to club him with. After the next batch of eggs go in the incubator, he's D-E-A-D.

I just hatched out my first chicks, got 14 of them! I'll do another batch, that will be more than enough!

Bay they'll be fertile for a while after he goes so if you're collecting eggs in the next couple of weeks he's good to disappear anytime!

Isn't it fun hatching your own? We aren't doing it this year... Intentionally anyway. I have a broody hen that I sincerely hope gets smarter and gives us some chicks. Not that I need more chickens but why not. I could use some more boys for the freezer at least!

DH started building a hoop coop yesterday. Hope to finish it today and move the tom and non-broody hen into it so the other two can hatch in peace!

It's finally not raining at the moment. We'll see how long that lasts! There's actually a small chance of a couple of snow showers later this week. Oh New England...
