Hey random picture time!

My husband built this out of random pieces of scrap wood and metal to keep the hay dry! They love it.

The girls...time to move them, they have eaten most of the brush here.

Special turkey #2 looks totally normal now! Sorry bad lighting but here are all 3! (the one sticking his head up is the one whose neck didn't work!)

Random goat pics because.... No reason needed right?
My daughter was bringing them snacks. How's that for a patient face?

Need to put the roost in the hoop coop and will move the turkeys in the morning. I also need to plant a few "early" things this week. Really hoping we have a day without rain sometime soon!

We are going to build another hoop coop for the broody turkeys. Once their chicks hatch and get a bit bigger (assuming they do), we'll put them and chicks in there. We'll have to put welded wire over the cattle panels for that one. Then we'll clean out the turkey side of the big coop, move the adult chickens there, and clean out the small side for the chicks that are in the house. How's that for a poultry shuffle? Lol also need to get the buck pen set up in the next few weeks so it's ready when my little dude is weaned!

I thought I posted this last night but apparently not...

I have no idea how many eggs they are sitting on because they're pretty intimidating when they hiss at you! I'm not going near them! But, if it's more than we want to raise we can always sell a few. Probably won't be an issue though. The local feed store has raised prices substantially since we started using them a few years ago. The feed we use for turkeys (and used to use for meat birds) was $15/50 lbs. It's now over $17!! I need to do some searching, TSC is expensive also. Their brand is a little cheaper but I'm not thrilled with it. The adults don't eat too much, but they sure do while they're growing!

Are there any feed mills around you? I get my feed directly from a local mill that I never knew existed until I did some serious searching. While honestly, they have great horse/cattle feed I'm not 100 % happy with their goat feed. It's a goat/sheep feed, so no copper. I bolus anyway so I can deal with that. It's 14% protein which is ok... but I prefer higher protein for my late pregnant and lactating does so I boost it with their generic version of Calf Manna. It's 25% protein so that helps. I don't think mature males or dry females need that much protein, but they don't get much feed anyway so it works out.

Nope not really. Not within an hour and a half drive anyway! Still searching though... Maybe I'll find someplace hidden closer!
