I mean getting nothing done does mean I kept the kid, 30 chickens, 7 turkeys, 4 goats, 2 pigs and 2 dogs alive and fed so that's enough of a job some days lol.

Yay mom! And, ya know - sometimes it's really ok to have days where we get nothing done! Every now and then you just need one of those days!

I agree! Sometimes they aren't planned and sometimes one plans them, but either way, I feel they are necessary. If one can shut their mind down to how much needs doing, it can be a restful time, a recharging time.

Today I took one of those, though babysitting grandchildren all the while, I didn't do much of anything else. Good weather for getting things done but it was just a day of low energy.

I wish we'd get a gorgeous day. It's been raining on and off all week.

Score on the books! :)

My mom is in Florida until Tuesday morning, so I guess I'll hear how things are actually going. She was not thrilled about the 95 degrees and major humidity that Florida has this time of year.

One of our turkeys escaped and is free in the yard. She's so little she fit through the holes in the cattle panel hoop coop. She isn't bothering anyone or threatening to run away (since all her friends are stuck in pens!) so I plan to let her be for a while!

The chickens got into some of the seeds we planted yesterday. UGHHHH! So sick of free range chickens! I'll probably try to re-hill and see about laying some extra fencing down on top to discourage them.

Hope your mom's trip goes well. She's going to see grampa?

Silly turkey. Yep, it'll probably stick close to it's incarcerated buddies, lol. Might stand out there and go nani nani boo boo to the other birds.

Grrrrr, chickens and gardens. They are NOT friends.

So far she's sticking right next to her buddies. My husband's all worried about getting her back in... I'm not. It's going to rain later, she'll get back in for shelter. Or she'll get wet. It's not breeding season anymore so it's not like she's going to wander off with the wild gang!

My rooster is standing outside the window crowing at me. So annoying, but at least he's not in the garden!

Oh and yes, she's visiting my grandfather. Have to Skype later. Guess I better figure out how to use Skype...
