"IF" Issue 3 passed....it failed in Richland county by LESS than 700 votes :th Looks like it passed 53% yes to 47% no.

results here. http://www.sos.state.oh.us/
According to the map results,

Issue 1 was passed throughout the state.

Athens County is the only county that defeated State Issue 2, so it passed.

It looks like only 30 of the 88 counties defeated Issue 3, allowing gambling to be added to Ohio's constitution. It looks like many bought into the more jobs and more money in Ohio propaganda. :(

What annoys me is all the levies passed and levies renewed that affect us.

We had received a notice that our property taxes would be adjusted for the downturn in economy. This was in response to the public outcry when they increased them unreasonably.
I was at the treasurer's office yesterday and was informed that we may see no decrease in property taxes if new levies pass and others are renewed. Even a renewal levy that states no new taxes will increase the property taxes. Each period that it is renewed and begins again there is a larger amount taken initially from property taxes and then that amount decreases through the renewed lifetime years of the levy. Like a balloon mortgage in reverse.
We had several renewal levies and some new all voted in and will begin at the same time.
Our treasurer definitely gave me an eye opening education.
My area contains a large community of high income who vote everything in. Naturally I wasn't shocked by all that passed this morning.

I am really disappointed in Ohio right now. Big money won issue 2. All I can do is pray now.
The casinos issue ticked me off. That's all I want to say about that. (I don't condemn anyone who wants to gamble, that's their own choice)

Quail, are staying or leaving Ohio? I will leave if this starts interfering in small farmer's lives.

Issue 2 was called "preemptive socialism" on a recent radio talk show.

"Let's screw ourselves before the feds do it!"

I honestly don't know yet. I'm doing a lot of praying first. But, it is a possibility.

Honestly, I think the small farmers will be the ones most affected. Big Ag farmers are going to be using this new board (power) to put the small farmers out of business, IMO.
