NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo........I can't remember the other sixteen!

wow! i have to say them 4H kids TOTALLY sprang to action! she had the situation handled before i could even say anything but "ohmigosh i think i'm gonna barf"!!! and he was johnny on the spot handing implements and whatnot. i stood there ineffectually and confused.

the only thing that didnt work out is that the neighbor kids were really hoping it would have been earlier in the day. in our county "gotta go home and birth that goat" is a legitimate excuse to get out of school. oh well next time.. Little Nibbles is due mid next month and we'll try and plan a little better.

my phone call to the neighbor mom kinda went like this:

me: ohmigoshsomehorriblethingiscomingoutofthegoatandi'mgonnapassoutandwhatamisupposedtodo?whereareyourchildren!!?!?!?
she: ohiofarmgirl is that you?
me: (hyperventilating noises)
she: ok relax. i'll call the kids they are on their way home and should be there soon

she: thats good. now go and get paper towels, blukote.... ..blahblahblah and dental floss
me: dental floss? mint or regular?
she: for heavens sakes
me: do i need to bring the gun?
she: for heavens sakes - go and stand outside until the kids get there

thank heaven for the neighbors. i told them they could have the male as the kids will make some $$ off him at the fair.

well pretty much they are named Goat 1 and Goat 2.... we'll have to make a meeting to set up a meeting to get a committee together to brainstorm about names...

i'm still kinda in shock.

yep they were both up standing before too long. then they promptly fell asleep which was pretty cute. and they found the milk supply.

white one with black head is a male; the reddish/white one is a girl.

i had no idea they made funny little noises! they sound like little squeaky toys. the momma was talking to them and it was very funny.
