OFG, I wish you lived closer. My BIL (soon to be disposed of in a neferious act of revenge) has dumped 2 geese on me.) My not-so-bright DH okay'd the transfer because he thought they'd be "cute" on the pond. I gave them both the stink eye and I ticked off my list of "We don't want Geese around here because"
1. It's not our pond - and the neighbors don't like poppy piles in their yard,
2. They'd loooove our garden, which is a source of revenue during the summer,
3. They're loud and absolutely worthless,
4. You're not feeding my scratch feed to those worthless creatures,
5. We don't need a watch goose, we've got a beagle.

Did they listen? No! So now I've gotta get rid of 2 white (albeit dirty) geese. If the man across the road with a pond don't want them, I'm up the creek and sinking fast in goose poop. :he

AB - brute squad = meat chickens (big dumb and can throw their weight into it when needed)

KC - well all you have to do is
1. buy about 300 ft of fence and spend 3 days putting it up
2. build a sound proof goose house
3. dig you OWN pond
4. prepare to say "them danged geese pooped on the front porch AGAIN" about oh... every day

then you'll be ready for goose-love!

HA!

take up your beatin' stick and get out there. they probably have that poor beagle down and are likely to kill him!

remember when they come for you to grab their beak and DONT LET GO, then do a fancy half-nelson move, get behind them, and scoop them up with your free hand, pinning their wings down firmly.

or do the sissy girl run and hope they dont run faster than you.

did you see the story about how that rascal, Bourbon Red, dumped his killer gander on me? show this to your husband and prepare for him to have screaming nightmares:

i'm bettin' he'll be giving them geese $20 and a bus ticket in no time....

wanna see the scar on my arm?

;-)

we found Nibbles.

apparently, with budget cuts as they are, Witness Protection just isnt what it used to be.

acting on intell provided by The Snitch.. i mean, Chirper the turkey hen, the dogs and i donned our Barnyard SWAT gear and prepared to storm the target. we were "coms live and five by five" as we repelled down the side of the house and into the turkey yard.

we neutralized the guards and executed a grid search for our target. crouched low and hidden in the poison ivy we belly-crawled to a secure position. we then observed the turkey herd to see if we could confirm ID of the target.

initially we thought our target had been tipped off - there was talk of a mole in the organization. but then the news came over the com that Shine, the barncat, had "taken out" the mole and was eating it in the barn.

we switched to infrared vision... and there she was! she was casually trying to blend in with the turkey hens and was making some kind of "gob-baaa-boogle gob-baaa-boogle gob-baaa-boogle gob-baaa-boogle noises. her bad gobbling technique and accent was the give away.

otherwise we wouldnt have seen her. the disguise was good - someone had stuck a red glove on her head and duct taped some turkey feathers on her back.

we shot our way in, secured the target, and it was a running battle to our rendezvous point where we were helo'd out.

after the debriefing and subsequent psych eval we determined that she could return to her position. but just in case we have the goat shed bugged and have a GPS tracker in her phone.

barnyard status: as normal as it ever is.

i'm headed out to milk her. we'll see how this goes.....

(btw, can you tell i've been watching the Alias series???
