wow! i dont even know who most of those cartoons are... i'm the same as Quail. not interested in the new ones...most of them just grate on my nerves.

so did anyone else loose their electric? we were out for a couple hrs today. now back on and wow what a windy day!

in sad news i had to take up most of the eggs in Cindy and Penny (our momma geese) nests. i'm not sure they are ever going to set and Penny has moved hers at least once. i left a couple just to be sure but that was a sad chore. we augered some holes in the garden and buried them deep.

in the good news department.... our bad neighbors have been as quiet as church mice! they even had friends over last nite but we barely heard a peep. and we think they took down the ornamental deck thingy.

i guess paying for the survey was worth it.. for now anyway. i still got a lead on a big angry buffalo tho... just in case. i'm gonna call him Lou.

We haven't lost any electricity but have 35 mph winds tonight and tomorrow....poor chickens, the door to their run blew shut (with one of the runner ducks in it) so the duck couldn't get out into it's house and the chickens couldn't get in. I had to put on a head lamp and go on a chicken hunt tonight to get them all back in the coop.

Sorry about the goose eggs....that's a shame, glad the neighbors are quiet though!

Been there more than once! Grab the bright lights and the good dog and go chicken hunting.... ugh!
It's windy here too but no power outages at this point.
Sorry about the goose eggs.
You're not missing much on the cartoon front. There are few I will let DS watch. They are all quite annoying.

didn't lose our power today, far as I know...but we weren't home for a good portion of the day.

it's quite chilly tho - almost makes me think the dreaded white stuff is on it's way back! *shudders*

i started my spring cleaning today. flea market season is coming upon us, and we're planning to sell a lot of the stuff we're no longer planning to keep. i might set up a big ol' yard sale, too, some time in June.

time to clean up, clean out, re-arrange, and get organized.

I need to do that too. Toys need to be purged as well as cookbooks that I won't use much anymore. My life focus has changed quite a bit and I need to move some stuff on! Thanks SS!!!
Some kitchen stuff can go too.

holy goat, batman! we are SO keeping Nibbles!

as you recall, Nibbles has been on probation due to her "F-" in being a mommy and for giving me fits. after we sprung her from the poorly executed witness protection program she has been out there working to keep her status here. of course she is just a consultant and wont get a blue badge to indicate she is a FTE ("Full Time Employee") until we have another mid-cycle review and get a 360* review completed, set some goals, and determine if her value is on par with her tenure with this organization.

actually she has been working very hard and we are pleased with her progress. not only has she been a good milker - i think she likes it.

i've been giving her milk to the dinner chix (the cornish x's) since she freshened to make sure all the colostrum and stuff is out but today i milked her for us.

i intended to use her milk to make ice cream but its been so darn cold that tonite i made chocolate pudding (actually its egg custard).

oh.
my.
gosh.

normally i use a little cream when i make this even when i use whole milk. but i didnt and WOW! the pudding was so good. incredibly good and amazingly rich! her milk is like...like... cream!

so she stays.

and she's been kind of cute and now that i have her all brushed out she looks like of pretty.

now, i'm not going to reinstate her to full rank...and no blue badge yet... but she is moving up. and i did get that cash from selling the babies.. hum... i guess she is generating revenue. i'll take it under advisement, form a committee, schedule a meeting so we can agree on when to have a meeting to review the notes of the committee to determine if we need another meeting to see if we should consider another mid-cycle review. subject to VP approval, of course.

:)

hey is any body else having a frost/freeze warning tonite?

Oh, that reminds me, gotta go bring my new flats of plants in, then go snatch Peach from her mother's breast....er....udder and feed Plum. And milk Mya. Ahh, late night chores. In the freezing weather. I bred those darn goats late so I wouldn't have to freeze..... Grrrrrrrrr!

I can't believe my ears! Frost/freeze in May?? We have had a long wet, cold spring but frost/freeze in May?

In south TX it has been in the 90's, gosh I used to dread May all the way to November!

Here though it was very sunny and very warm, I think everyone was in shock including myself.

-It is so warm today that Sam is outside in just a sheet pretending to be at prom! :p I should snap a photo of her! Ahh the freedom of living in the country!

I'm glad to hear Nibbles has a change of attitude! Her milk sounds so nummy! Maybe she would rather be a career girl than a mother.
