Ain't that the truth!!! I saw the piggie on the front and my mind was smelling home smoked bacon ( I have been out for near two months now ) Thou I admit I have always saved the fat and we had green beans with bacon drippings this evening!!!

She might be out tilling soil, fishing in still waters, guiding the flocks or whipping the snot out of pigs!!

OFG--awwwwww.....glad Nibbles is coming around and earning her keep! Our weather here in Va has been cold too.....I had to bring in all my seedlings last night so I'm kind of glad I haven't gotten the garden in yet. It was in the 30s last night!

I had to turn on the heat last night.....in MAY.....

*comes running up, dripping wet, very muddy barn boots*

holy-moly its been raining goats and chickens (not cats-n-dogs) out there! gosh i guess you carried on without me... and now i am hungry for a bacon and peanut butter sandwich of all things...humm...

so.

what a day yesterday! i went to see a man about a calf and had to take my 20 year old cat to the vet. so it was a dilly.

i did not buy a calf (YET) as he still has some 4H kids who need them.. but the good news is that he has an older milker when i'm ready. i'm not sure how many cows he's milking there but there is a bunch. he's the guy i'm getting the compost from - got another 2 scoops and had some laughs with him.

so we get home and i had to call the vet right away for my old lady cat. basically we had to load out 1.5tons of poop in under and hour, i grabbed my old cat, and off we went.

she is FINE. but i was not. of course i was very worried...but it turned out to no big deal.

she was like a celeb in the vet's office tho. he said he's been practicing for 30 years and has only seen a handful of 20 year old's. taking her there was kinda like being swarmed by the paparazzi... all the techs and office staff came out to oooh and aaah over her. it reminded me of when they would put some wig and too much makeup on Liz Taylor and stroll her around in a wheel chair...

anyway

she got a shot of antibiotics, the vet said she looks great, and then home we came.

it was so stressful for me, tho, that i had to stop and get some haagan-daz.. if only they had tequila flavor....i settled for their extra dark chocolate..

so thats the scoop. i got everyone milked and am making cheese...we are stuck inside with crazy rain so i'm baking and getting caught up. i might even wash my hair (i KNOW!).

BBH - isnt Nibbles cute? now that i dont hate her anymore i think she's just charming. and such a good milker - really. i used her milk for the cheese (+ Debbie's + some of Vita's)... so no pudding for us today...but we fought over that last spoonfuls. we'll need to make more tomorrow.

now whatcha all up to??... i'm gonna go see....
