Ah...just what I needed today, some of OFG's barnyard mayhem!

Are you feeling better yet? Staying with family has thrown me way off my good eating habits...gotta be a gracious guest you know? Dh's acid reflux is coming back too. We finally borrowed a blender and made smoothies for breakfast today. I can't wait to be in my own place again!

I hope Dash is remorseful.

nope. in fact, i just got scolded and sent inside. i was working outside while my hubby went into town. so now i'm worse AND in trouble!!! man.

do you have a count down going for how many days!?!?!? not long now


and nope, Miss Dash is trying to get a record deal and a spot on Glee.... she is milking this celeb thing as far as she can go. she asked me today when Mario Lopez is going to come and interview her.

OD just looks confused and says it was a "bad time in his life" and not he's completely devoted to Penny.

Oops I confused my poultry...I meant to ask if OD was remorseful!

We are good, should get the keys on the 30th ......puts me at 10 days! WOOT!!

Although, we did see a house on CL for rent in our old neighborhood (not the one we just moved out of but the one we lost) actually the exact same model but with a pool. Hubby called to see about renting it. Well see.

OD gave a tearful apology to the barnyard saying that he "let everyone down." but most of the hens dont believe him and cant understand while Penny would "stand by her gander."

to make it worse.... its been reported that one of the drakes heard OD call Miss Dash is "true soul mate."

this story just isnt going away.

OD is loosing sponsors left and right. Junior (the junior gander) has asked for OD's resignation. but there is no sign he is going to leave office yet. OD says he's staying for the goslings but time will tell.


as for me.... i just got an "F-" from The Big Man who said i'm not doing enough laying around and the longer it takes me to get better the worse it is for EVERYONE (but i think he means him).

I have a really good broody too....one of my light brahmas, she jumped on a hawk two days ago and pecked the little bugger like crazy. Coolest thing ever. She definitely stays....she was really good and still is good with all the ducklings....can't wait til I can get her to hatch out some chicks! She does give them weird looks when they swim though....

we need a fun name for our barred rock. i think it going to be "Mrs. something"... like Mrs Dowlrimple or something like that. she has 4 eggs left but she was up this morning. the little ones are popping all around. they may have started to hatch the day before - but i was too sick to check on her.

a couple of my clucks want to brood right now - of course when we dont have any room at all. chickens! its like they do it on purpose!

hey D!

nah. not only did i get an "F-" yesterday for sneaking to work outside... i feel worse now. so i had to admit defeat. AND i had to tell the hubby that he was RIGHT. dang.

but i'm still cookin'. last nite we had duck breast... and i'm about to make a buttermilk pie.

of all times to loose my voice - my best pal from college is coming thru tomorrow on her way to her HS reunion... we havent seen each other face to face in probably 8 years... and i'm still kinda croaky. so i guess she'll do the talking. i'll tell ya - its always something.

oh well. golly i love that you are back online.

I love being back too! Funny how you get so connected to people that you don't really even know!

I have started using MIL's computer, since Hubby is mostly working on his and there is never time for me to use it.

Duck is not my favorite....had to make it many times in culinary school and just never could develop a taste for it

Enjoy the visit with your friend, I am sure you will find your voice....then wear it out

ofg, do you have any advice on how to tell a gander that you can't be his new love interest? i'm pretty sure Ricky just proposed some inter-species romance... he's never wanted me to touch him, but the past few days he's been downright clingy, following me around and talking A LOT. i just went out to sit with him and watch the turkeys be funny and he came and GOT IN MY LAP! no warning, just all the sudden i've got 10 lbs of gander sitting in my lap, chewing on my arm. it wasn't aggressive, just kinda like "How you doing?"

(i was thinking he was acting decidedly perky because the turkeys are keeping him company. i was starting to think goose love was a fickle thing- especially after reading about OD's escapades- and that Ricky had just forgotten poor Lucy like she was yesterdays news. but now i think it's because he thinks i'm the perfect replacement wife.)
