mmmm, I can smell the peaches. I swear, OFG, you just like to taunt me:drool

I got the neighbor guy up to take a look at my road, he allowed that it might take 8 to 10 loads of sand/gravel and he would haul that for $50 bucks a load and spread it. think he means more than just spreading as he has the equipment to do it right. I told him I could do $400 and he should just do the best he could for that....given that I just paid an astronomical $140 for a cat at the vet today. geesh, we are talking peanut butter and jelly for a month. we talked for a bit and I sent him home with 2 dozen eggs.

free peaches....that is fabulous!

blackberries still aren't ripe here....am fighting the birds for them, too.

OFG, whatever got you sick must have knocked you on your keister. don't be in a hurry to work up to a relapse!
gotta get off the computer as there are tornado warnings out and the sky is looking a bit green for my taste.

:lol:Well, in her defense, the girl I tried to talk to was wearing a tiara and sash with some gobbledegook letters across it. I am not kidding. Guess I forgot to mention that  And she looked waaaay better than her goats, so I think it was all about her.

I can't really get past all the names either. I can barley call my kids by their right names. I do have a farm name picked out already though, if we ever go about that business.

I'm going to try to find some middle ground I think.
I go the middle ground. We have them around for the milk mostly, but I keep them registered just in case. I can get a little more out of the kids when they're registered, but still sell them on the cheap because mine aren't good enough to be shown.

Does this mean I'm not getting any peach pie??

Yes, weird names often some with registered goats! BUT, you can always use nicknames. =P I personally enjoy unique names but no one can ever remember them. We tried 'regular' named, but ended up with 'Libby, Lilly, Lolli, Molly, Missy, which turned to *points* 'You there, come closer!'

Some registered names are just plain weird, sexual, or stupid. Strip Tease, Sensual Sassy, Juicy Couture.

However, you can't go wrong with alcohol names.

ofg, i think someone wrote a book about you... well, about a lot of the women on this forum really.

(the book looks truly awesome!)
OMG, I am going to have to read that book. She is from the same upstate NY area that I grew up in. Cobleskill is the next town over from ours. She probably went to the same school I did.
