how hilarious! i think the first rule of 4H is no spoiled children! ha or at least thats how it is around here! hard work and discipline for sure.
i dont have any hoots at all for the registration stuff. and we didnt have any problem selling Nibble's babies. i think you could probably charge more for the registered ones, but we got $225 for Nibble's babies (for both together). they were cute, for sure. but there are a lot more folks willing to pay $50 for a kid's pet than $500. (probably)
as far as i can tell there are 2 sides of this fence:
1. full on goat wild must be registered and silly names like: Petunia's Peach Sundae Lightening Rod
2. folks like me that are fine with "pet quality" and give them names like "Gus The Goat"
i think its more about if you are going to breed and/or show. but we gave one of Debbie's babies to the neighbors and they are going to show him and he's totally a mutt. so i dunno Karen probably knows more about the whys and the wherefor's and all that.
me? i dont care as the only thing i'm showin' them goats is my bad attitude if they kick over the dang milk bucket.
peruse around craigslist to get an idea for pricing and whatnot.
sick of peaches? negative..
maybe i'll just make a big ol peach pie seein' as how pie makin' is what a do. ha! i'll send you a pic, Free, for inspiration.
ok i'm gonna go and check on my unregistered goaties. i'll take that back - i think Vita is still registered. but that has to do with how we take her back to the breeder for kidding.
what a gorgeous day!!
