oh man - we were in the car MOST of the day today... we drove up to the halfway point to see some more family so we had a fun time. but its just exhausting and seeing all that stupid snow just laying there mocking me along the road just made me cross.

Dace - i think i'm getting this put on a tshirt:
I still hate the dreary hopeless month of Jan.
;-)

and yep. BBH we've been hauling the water too. schlepping all those buckets is quite a different tune than this summer when you could just use the good ol' hose, huh?

even the ducks didnt want to be outside today!

dogs are bored. i'm bored. The Big Man asked me if i was going to be like this for the rest of the winter. um. yep.

but. tomorrow i think we are going into town and are actually going to (gasp) see a movie! its true. like real people - a movie! scifi of course - so we'll see the earliest showing of Avatar and i'll get my scifi fix. whoot! there might even be popcorn.....

until then i'll amuse myself by eating my weight in cheese. and liverwurst.

:)
ps FF - they are saying 16* tonite but i'm guessing it will be about 10*. dang.

I was planning to take my daughter to that movie this week for a matinee. I've been told to find out where it is showing in 3-D.

Yes! My Hubby told our DD and her BF that they absolutely had to see it in 3D!

HEY why are you slepping water?

In winter I use my hoses...LOL

You just gotta have the system down.

I have the "freeze free" water faucet. Each day I screw on the hose, turn on the water, and do all my watering. Then I unscrew the hose, hold high, walk the line draining all the water and leave it til morning.
Then it doesn't freeze inside the hose. No cracked hoses, no problems to water each time. No carrying buckets.

I do this with all my hoses in each barn. I have been doing this all my life--- That way I never have to schlepppp anything.

Don't you do this...LOL

hey FC!

nothing but schlepping for us.. we've tried every methodology available to drain the hoses... nothing works for us.
:-(

the other problem we have is that the hoses get really stiff from the leftover water... so we just gave up. fortunately tho - we wised up on the faucet this year. plus i'm a big softy and some of the critters get warm water. i'd love to get a hot water line to the outside - that might just be one of our upcoming projects!

we also considered some kind of solar hot water in the garage.. but still working on that one.

in the meantime i'm coming up with a lot of excuses NOT to go outside... but i'm out of them and i hear the poultry fussing around so i guess i'd better march on out there.

and yep QA! freezing! but its warmer this morning than it was last nite! maybe we will get above 32* and melt some of this stupid snow. the hens will go outside if its just as cold but if there is ONE flake on the ground they wont! silly girls....

:)
