Want to trade weather? It's in the 20s right now, and is not supposed to get out of the 50s today. :(

Hey Lori just make sure you put a Poult in each side. That way you look even!!! ;)

I have to tell you those turkeys I have are getting huge. They are just as easy as chickens and more fun. Mine may be spared this year. It looks like the 3 I have left are a Tom and Two Jennys. Maybe I can get a clutch in spring.

Is that how that works OFG???

Ha ha ... I just had a brief weird though about our dear Ohiofarmgirl trick-er-treating with a half grown poult in each bra cup. When they asked about the costume she could say she was going as a brooder! :ep  :gig

you know..i go away to make breakfast and you guys come up with this.

ha!

actually - thats hilarious but i'd be afraid of what kind of "trick" they would want! ha!

hey are just as easy as chickens and more fun
you are just right - we think the same thing. later this fall your ladies might start acting weird... its the mating thing. if they all of a sudden fall down and sit very quietly... its their "come hither" stance. and dont worry if your tom does it wrong - he'll figure it out.
;-)

so - wow. cold this morning. still waiting to get above freezing for heavens sakes.

we totally got a pumpkin haul yesterday. really my eyes bugged out of my head when i saw all the pumpkins. we loaded up the truck and left them some honey.. and then the fun really started. we got home and threw them at.. i mean "to" the pigs.

FF - i KNOW! i can't believe people just throw them out. around here folks get a bale of straw, a bunch of pumpkins, and some corn stalks and call it a decoration...and then throw it all away. wow!

we are back at it again today. our other farm stand pal probably has a bunch of stuff for us so as soon as it warm up enough for us to let the masses out we'll take the big truck and get loaded up.

and then i have to come home and can broth, turkey meat, and pear sauce. what a day!

happy tuesday and dont forget to vote!
:)

 You guys are a riot....went to the feed store and guess what they had.....yep, turkeys! Grown turkeys....royal palms and bourbon reds. They were gobbling at my kids so I videoed them on my phone and sent it to my husband.....I think he's thinking about it........

Lori...just don't try to sneak home a full sizer in your bra. That might be weird :gig

Hey OFG....snow? Yikes. Like Denise, we are in tanks and shorts.....I love a nice Santa Ana, although fire is always a worry around here.

Can you give be a short run down on your turkey canning? I would love to take advantage of some good sales and I usually end up with a few turkeys in my freezer, but we just cook and eat them (there is a load of us here, ya know) but it would be great to have some meat canned up for quickie dinners. Maybe I should go read thru the "what are you canning today' thread.

I hope you get some more warm weather before Old Man Winter (or as you call it White Death) settles in!

Our weather has been warm and HUMID... blah.
Now it is cooling off a little - highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.

If I manage ok through the cornishx, my friend and I are discussing getting turkeys.
I think I have turned a major corner in my SS life to even think about it. LOL

My work had a pumpkin carving contest and if people didn't pick up their jack-o-lanterns after the contest the pumpkin would be thrown away. I contacted the manager of that section and I get the pumpkins after they display the 'winners'.

Heh, I voted, and my 18-year-old son just voted for the first time! We are leaving right now to go drop off his ballot.

I always say if you don't vote, don't gripe!
