I was the only one at our voting place when I went. That's how it usually is.
My taxes will be going up 2 different ways again :/ the Columbus library was voted the best in the nation and the way Franklin county has "spruced up" (and by that I mean they went ALL out - computers, digital everything, etc.) all the branches does not leave me to believe they need more money. I'm feeling pretty pi$$ed off about it all. And our school district will have another levy on the ballot in May
But hopefully our new governor can turn things around for this state. I do have hope.

In my little town, we voted at the Masonic Hall. I walked in and there were two oposing tables of 4 volunteers each. They all looked at me expectantly.....who's she gonna walk up to?????

There was one other person there voting and this was at 2:30 p.m. and my town has high unemployment (17%) and we are about 4000 strong....deep sigh....

Oh by the way, Moonbeam Jerry Brown is back at it again. I only liked him when he was dating Linda Ronstadt.

oh wow is our pup growing!

she got long in the legs in the last couple days...and she developed a waist instead of a big roundy belly. she's adorable. and she knows to sit in her Good Dog Spot if she wants to be fed. so all well on the pup front!

as for the poults - i'm the worst turkey momma ever.

so i couldnt stand them being in the house anymore - so i shoveled out the hen house, cleaned out a brooder, and put them in it yesterday. they were kinda scared but settling down. they had a good light and a blanket over the brooder b/c it was (is!) cold last nite.

so i went out there this morning and.... the light was out and they were in a heap.

dang.

not sure what happened to their light but i got it fixed up and put the blanket back on them. i might end up bringing them back in. we'll have to see.

so the Good Neighbors moved their cows and now they are basically on our fenceline! whoooot! hey fox! just try to walk past them big cows! ha!

if anything the moos and goats will take care of all the bramble and we'll have a clear line of sight.

the dogs think the cows are the best thing they've ever seen.

we're stuck inside b/c of the cold - thankfully no snow has actually fallen on us.. but wowza its cold out there.

The Pig Killin' season has official begun! whoooot!

Bourbon Red and his hillbilly cousins and brother had a big time today - they killed 9 pigs....all that lovely pork just hanging in the garage and waiting to be cut up tomorrow!

ours will be in a couple of weeks. i cant wait!

tonite when we were doing chores the pigz were going nuts - they wanted more milk and we didnt have any for them. so i heard The Big Man telling the pigz that "all their problems will be over in a couple of weeks."

I actually really miss having pigs around, not just for meat later, but when they were a live, somehow they just completed the farm, in a way.

Why do you hate pigs again?? Did you watch/read Animal Farm too many times?
