well, you know what they say, "sometimes you just gotta wipe off the alpaca spit and move on."

great work, baby! and a baby! whooot! great work on the birthin' i bet the owners are going to just love that little one

:)

i think i have gravel in my future very soon - are you doing that for mud control or is is specific limestone for another alpaca-related purpose? we have to fix up our goose hut - and how.

i have to admit the puppy pee was pretty funny. she was too delirious to make it one more step so i scooped her up and there you have it. oh geez.

i have a pie in the oven and i'm so excited! and my canner just finished processing whoooot!

enjoy the sunshine ohio folks!
:)

Becca - my order won't be ready until next week, but you could email and ask them where all they deliver to. He got back to me really fast. It's www.Springhillfarms.us and they are in Newark.
I liked their package varieties even though it's a bit more to get a small order. But compared to other local prices I have seen, they are really good. I splurged and bought a ham. :drool merry Christmas to us :p

Oh Karen :sick But so glad to hear everything went fine!

OFG, I have to meet Nibbles some day. My Rory likes to stand on the stump in her yard and stare at the house to see if I am coming with the food. She looks like one of those Pointer dogs (but she's white ) And she was totally lovey this morning, go figure.

the other day Nibbles laid on the ground and moaned the entire day. no nothing was wrong. she was being over dramatic. sheesh!

we think Nibbles must have like 4 babies in there b/c she is huge already.

;-)
I'm sorry but if I had anything near 4 babies in me I would probably do the same thing!!!

As I recall, Nibbles wasn't particularly interested in being a mother last time. I can't imagine if she has 4! :gig
My goats both had triplets last time and the older one had quads her first time :ep I seriously don't know what we will do if we end up with 7 or 8 babies out of 2 goats :th

I use #9 clean limestone for the alpacas. It is in my whole barn and under the overhangs of the barn. It is great for drainage and since alpacas all go in a community pile, it is easy to clean. I have found that the limestone is not so great for goats. So I need to figure out something different for them. I happen to have #9 dirty limestone spread under the overhang where the goats are and that seems to be working out. The dirty stuff gets hard so you aren't scooping up a bunch of limestone with the poop. Only problem with the limestone (but probably like everything else) is that it has to be replaced on some type of regular basis. But when you rake every day, you lose a little limestone every day. But I have some dirt type areas that I'm losing some dirt every day too so not sure what would be a permanent solution so you don't have to replace stuff every year or two. I guess I just clean up poop too much! :p

Well, short break and back out to finish the stall. Note to self: don't let the stalls get 6" low. Replacing 6" of limestone is back breaking!

aint that right, K!

i like the little roundy gravel and it seems ok but yep - there is always some that gets shoveled out with the poop. but.... its good for my bad soil when it gets mixed in with the clay. my duck garage is getting low on gravel also.

tanks- ha! i'd tell you the same thing i told her, "man up, fattie and stop your whining!" ha! (so kidding - loves ya!)

java - you'd have a HERD!!! i remember thinking after Nibbles had her babies, "ohmigosh i'm a goat herd!"

and yep that missy had better love her stupid babies this time or ELSE! no amount of witness protection will hide her!!

actually i gots me a plan for them babies. i know some folks who are interested and since i didnt have any trouble selling them last time - wow easy peasy. and i'll just be standing there counting all my money.

i'm really hoping Debbie (who totally has rabies right now) has two females...shhh..if she does i'm going to keep them all! then i can call myself a "micro dairy" and make millions. ha!

gotta get back outside.... oh. and the pie was spectacular!
