Looks like the country girls are heading to the big city for OH Nationals (new change of plans I blame on QA ). Will we see you there?

I'm hoping to make it down there in the afternoon. As long as the last pregnant alpaca doesn't decide to give birth on that day.

Poor precious Imp. She knew she was loved. Glad those roos are now gone. Homemade noodles? yum!!! Are they similar to Chow fun noodles?
ohmigosh! MR! i just saw this... wow!!! i LOVE chow fun! and my best pal is headed to hawaii right now. i used to get chow fun in the honolulu airport b/c i couldnt wait to have them! i'll have to remind her to have some for me.

the noodles here are short, wide egg noodles. they have thin ones but come on - if you're gonna have noodles you might as well go for broke
;-)

and i'm still sulking over dear Imp. i was out there eyeballin' the black roo that escaped by the skin of his teeth. our main roo is keeping him in line for for whatever reason he's giving me a wide berth.

in the meantime - the surprise of the day is that Mr Tibbles has rushed to fill in the space from the other roos. he was out there making his presence known to the ladies. mostly he's staying with his 2 gals. but the youngest hens (the rest of the Bugs and Floppy's Five) are kinda starting to hang around him. hum.. interesting barnyard politics.

i'm working on canning the rest of the meat and the stock from yesterday's epic Meatball Day. i got 15-16 pounds of ground turkey from 2 of my $4 frozen turks... it worked out to about $0.53 a pound.. all lean meat, no fat or weird stuff.

wow!

and i cant wait to get outside. after the canning i'm mostly taking it easy.

happy tuesday!

 Nothing has peed on me in awhile. Knock on wood.

I am defrosting the freezer today, so thank goodness for the warm weather. I found a new meat supplier and they have pastured pork! And they deliver! We haven't had good pork for a long time :drool (and yes, it's the place with the hams listed on our CL today) The one farm I hadn't found yet in my searching. :bun

Hey - do your goats abhor being touched on the sides when expecting? It's a new thing I discovered this week. Whew, talk about a ticked off goat! Lesson learned.

Oh, I'd love some pastured pork. Is the place close to the fairgrounds so I could pick some up Saturday? :drool

i saw them tooo!!! and yep i was wondering if i should use their smoke house for our hams... they looked delish!

we had those tamworths last year and wow the meat was amazing so you will be in for a treat! great work!

Bourbon Red is mocking me by telling me about how he's processing all their meat from their big hog harvest... oh golly.. i'm about to die from lack of pork chops! whooooot!

and yes expectant goaties act like they have rabies. or the vapors. ohmigosh they are ridiculous. tomorrow it will be "WHY DONT YOU EVER TOUCH ME"... the next they will glare at you with unbridled disdain.

the other day Nibbles laid on the ground and moaned the entire day. no nothing was wrong. she was being over dramatic. sheesh!

we think Nibbles must have like 4 babies in there b/c she is huge already.

just keep fanning them with pond fronds, re-start "Beaches" for the 187th time, hand them tissues, and tell them they are beautiful and no they dont look like beached whales at ALL.

I'll tell you, I'll take being peed on over what I got this morning. The last alpaca gave birth this morning. I wasn't warned that she is protective of her crias. The whole back of my head, the side of my head, into my ear and the side of my face was covered in green slimy spit. I had to carry the cria to where my hair dryer was and blow the cria dry. I would have at least put a raincoat on with a hood if I had know this! :rant

I'd shower but now I'm off to spread limestone in another alpaca stall. So I may as well wait until I'm done with that. I did one stall yesterday and then will have one more tomorrow. Then I will see how much limestone is left and decide what I can do with it on Friday.
