Someone got their post edited. LOL

Anyway...so how do you not end up with inbred goats if you have a closed herd? Do the males pop out of cabbage patches?

:gig

Some of those posts sound like the dog breeder Nazis. Only THEY know what is best. Only THEIR dogs are healthy. NOBODY else should have the right to raise dogs. BREEDS should all be pure....blah blah blah blah.
:sick

Yeah, like there are natural packs of purebred toy poodles wandering the wild. :tongue

kai's full name is "My Fighting Uruk-hai Poodlekiller."
My D1 has a Pomeranian named Kiya. She also has a cool full name.

When she was a 2 pound pup (she is 5 pounds now) she got lost for 4 days outside by slipping her collar when she was put out to potty. The weather was 20 degrees and snow! We were all pretty sure she was dead, but evidently the stories about Poms being bred down from sled dogs are correct. She was in the pasture holed up somewhere. She obviously lived by eating fresh hot horse manure (yum hot steamy poo :drool ) and eating snow!! She still curls up with tail over nose when she goes to sleep at night. Anyway long story short (... too late) HER name is Epic Kiya Starkweather.

it's people like that why I stopped posting on that site as much... last fall I finally got my beautiful milk goat and was told she was a full blooded nubian from the guy I bought her from... of course I had no plans to show her all I wanted was the milk! and babies for food...

So I posted some pics of her on that site many jumped on putting her down saying what poor quality she was and that she wasn't a milk goat at all... I was so hurt and upset... Finally come spring the goats knocked down the fence and we had NO money at the time to repair it all... and seeing as to how I thought she wasn't a milk goat and wouldn't serve my needs I decided to sell her(with her pygmy companion) until we could get a good fence up and better shelter... and buy a better quality goat

I listed her on craigslist really cheap since I thought she was a mutt... she also had double teets... so I figured she would be pet quality only because I was told there that i wouldn't be able to milk her... The family that bought her owns a goat dairy farm! they fell in love with her... said yes she is full blooded and very nice! said the extra teet was good cause she would be able to nurse triplets if needed! UGHHHHH!!!!! :rant Stupid idiots over there with their pure breed crap! (sorry no offense I know it takes a lot to raise quality animals but I sold a goat for $40 bucks that I could have had wonderful milk from like I have dreamed about for ages...) But since I was new to goats I thought I had bought trash that wasn't going to serve my purposes... I didn't need a show goat I needed a mild tempered milk goat... and all the snobs looked down on my pretty little girl! when in reality she was what I always wanted!

ok sorry for the rant... but I also try to post about rabbits from time to time over there... I have raised rabbits for YEARS... but sometimes I don't know it all... and want other opinions and advice... never can learn too much! Always learning new tricks and secrets! but every time I post a question they attack me like I'm a noob... so I stopped posting as much on that site... it's supposed to be BACKYARD herds not show arenas... I feel like it's animals for the rich and famous... ROFL With all the biosecurity they would die if they seen my chicken coop and rabbit hutches! hahaha (not saying I'm not clean but my animals do poop! and you work with what you got!) tarp covered 2x4's and all!

Yeah some of the people over there are pain out rude. I used to be a member of a great goat forum, but some of the folks over on BYH also became members over there and just ruined everything for everyone. It's crazy.

Did Cmjust ever get banned..? :hide

If they really wanted a friendly, thriving, and wholesome forum, they would do something a bit more about the meanies over there. I can't stand it, so I stay away. More power to you all who can put up with that crap.

Well, our posse has made some difference, but I was working during the time the posse was saddling up! I missed it! But hey, we got some great members over here. I came here when I posted a goat worming question on byc and Beekissed pm'd me to come here when I was jumped all over...by a main poster at the time on byh!

So saddle up and patrol the streets....
