My brother tells his dogs to "go to place" which means their dog bed. The last time he came to visit he said it around my kids and they both started doing it too!!!

Does that mean I need a dog bed for my kids???

well. we are hiding in the house today because its.... dun dun DUUUNNNN...

Youth Hunting Season

oh for heavens sakes. we are keeping the turkeys incarcerated, the geese up by the house, the dogs in a constant 'line of sight' ("stay where i can see you!"), wearing bright orange hats and jackets, and running in a slow arching patterns while doing chores.

sheesh.

now, the neighbor kids arent hunting in the back of our propeties here, but the dad is taking a kid who doesnt have a dad (i thought that was the best thing i'd ever heard) behind out pond. this year they gave us plenty of warning so i didnt go running down there with the dogs screaming for the strangers to get off our dang property.. "oh hey neighbors is that you? heh heh heh...sorry!"

and in return they arent letting anyone come on their property like they did last time. it didnt work out for anyone especially since we didnt know and i was out there yelling insults at the pigs and apparently scaring off the game.

ahem. anyway...

the Bad Neighbors are who we are keeping an eye on... so who knows what is going to happen in the next couple of weeks. even before we called the po-po on them this spring they always had a big hootenany at hunting time. yikes!

and i'm keeping an eye on my old lady cat. i was sure she was at her end the other nite but now.. heck. she's just fine. i think she's gone thru 47 lives in her 20 years on this earth. honestly, its amazing she is still here. she just keeps on keepin' on.

thats us today.

happy saturday and keep your heads down!

I got one of those. We are pretty sure she is just a zombie at this point. It's the only logical explanation.

Sheesh, our oldest cat is doing that to us. He went into kidney failure as a result of a blocked urethra and almost died...several years ago! A month or so ago he stopped eating and lost tons of weight. We figured the kidneys finally gave up completely. Two weeks later, the walking skeleton got his appetite back and we are feeding him everytime he glances in our direction and he is sleek and shiny and gaining nicely.

I think he is just testing our devotion. He pushed it this time, though, as we were ***this*** close to providing him with the ultimate kindness and putting him down.

He ate a big spider once and that earned him lifetime devotion from me. :love
