hey BBH - you up yet? dont ask me how i know about that special alter call
;-)

so

yesterday i reported on Cow Crisis 2010 - i called the neighbor at work and let her know her cow was moo-ing

to be fair she wasnt just moseying around and moo-ing placidly.. she was screaming (now this is the cow not the neighbor).

so on her OK i marched over there and met her kids half way. i duly reported the moo-ing, they reported their actions taking (looking outside and shrugging), and we agreed the cow was just worked up b/c she was separated from this spring's calf.

Cow Crisis 2010 was thus averted and all is well.

except

the kids reported they captured 2 huge, well fed coyotes on their game cam. so great - what we got for xmas is coyotes.

we hooked the electric fence back up (we turned if off after the hog harvest, with snow on the ground its not like Debbie will even walk outside) and are on high alert.

axe by the door - check
Dog#1 on patrol - check
Dog#2 standing at the ready to bark at anything - check
My Fighting Uruk-hai Poodle Killer, in training - check
Insane Cat Posse reacting with casual disregard - check

we're ready for them coyotes...and it might get ugly. bring it on, varmints!

oddly, these same war implements (see above) are what i'm taking to our merry xmas gathering tonite at the MIL's.

just kidding.

now i'm off to make more xmas cookies. and coffee. what i need today is a lot of sugar and caffeine.. whoooot!

oh - and our big cat, Moose wishes everyone a Merry Moose-mas!:

merry merry everyone!

I knew there was a reason I moved 3000 miles away from the family ;)

I'll wait to read the next installment on this chapter :D

In the meantime I am cooking up a ham and fixins for our christmas dinner. I made the family watch some christian shows yesterday, to remind them why they do christmas and that it is really not supposed to be about the gifts or who has the most christmas decorations....The kids decided to stay at her parent's house..:hu

we survived! and nothing funny happened.

but - the MIL got us a separate pizza WITH veggies...and we brought one of our finest bottles of 2 Buck Chuck. she put on an apron to set the boxes of pizza out - and "made" salad by opening a bag of it. the apron was pretty funny, come to think of it.

the stoopid poodles barked but were in another room. i was allergic to all of her festive holiday scents - to the point my eyes were watering. (she's known me since i was a teenager and never remembers this. ever.) so we stayed as long as i could. when i started wheezing i'd had enough.

she very kindly got me a fluffy-(ish) pink bathrobe - which is what she got me 2 years ago. when she handed me the QVC box she said it 'didnt get very good reviews" so i wasnt sure how to respond to that. not to be a hater but i've never used a bathrobe in my entire life. and there is no way to return it without asking for the paperwork. yikes!

my husband, her son, got - a can of peanuts from costco.

and we both got sock hats.

we didnt make it to our late nite church service - it started to snow. so we rushed home and snuggled our puppy.

on the upside...

we'll be headed over to the good neighbors for our fun celebration in a bit - i cant wait. all the grandma's are bringing different home baked stuff - and we are having turkey AND ham.

and we got a white xmas - which actually is kinda rare in here this part of ohio. the news called it "decorator snow" b/c there wasnt a lot just enough to make it look nice and cover the poop in the barnyard.

so there you have it.
:)
