Girl, I feel you! My kids are making me insane....my son actually told me that he was "allergic to snow" the other day when I tried to make him go outside and play.
I'm going nuts too....we went to church twice yesterday and to my hubby's uncle's house but i'm still battling cabin fever. I can't wait for warmer days so I can shove them out the door for a while and just drink a cup of coffee in peace.
Speaking of coffee....I got a french press! What kind of coffee do you drink?
outside: colder than all heck: 16* and not warming up anytime soon
inside: a disaster. the kitchen and laundry fairies did not show up. i need to talk to their manager.
pup: getting ENORMOUS. we got a harness for her. she acted like we were pouring boiling oil over her and hates that we now have a 'handle' for her. we love that we have a handle for her.
dogs#1 and #2: still love that we got them a puppy to play with - especially now that they have a handle to use too.
chickens: not laying and several are molting - BAD.
ducks: acting funny; Miss Duck thinks she wants to have an egg. that big drake is still looking at me sideways.
turkeys: wow there is a young jake that is looking mighty fine. TZ looks splendid these days. hens = loud and ridiculous
geese: being silly gooses
goats: fat and angry
meat chickens: GONE! we dressed the last of the meats - they were monstrous. i think they were at 16 weeks and were so huge their feet could barely touch the ground. they were like basketballs...and oh! so much fat! whooot! i'm going to make pate today with the livers and render the extra fat. then its gonna be chicken dinner tomorrow nite.
kitchen update: finished up a buncha chicken stock (got it canned), made dog food for kai with the leavings, ground up one of our $4 turkeys and will do another today and will can the meat. i'm so excited.. havent done ground meat yet so hopefully it will work. probably will have another round of stock from the turkeys to work on tomorrow.
My chickens (except for 1) have completed their molts and have picked up in the egg department.
I have one hen that is naked! Well, she now has pin feathers about 1/4 " long all over her. I've never seen a chicken in this shape. She has 2 long tail feathers and 2 or 3 long wing feathers and a couple of tufts on her legs and that's all. I'm thinking of knitting her a sweater.
