wow! Quail thats horrible!!! Boubon Red got that huge dumping a couple weeks ago.. sheesh.. i guess i'm next. yikes!
thanks Java and K - and for the tip about them not wanting it if it gets old. Nibbles thinks its the best thing she's ever seen. i also got them some BOSS to beef them up if they need it.. but not FATTEN them up. oh golly Nibbles is getting big. Debbie dropped LOW but i woudlnt be surprised if she only has one baby. as long as its one GOOD baby... a doeling that will milk like the dickens.
as i was standing around cursing the snow i made chicken liver pate with a LOT of brandy. its stupendous. then i made a hot toddy with a lot of brandy. i guess a fruit cake is next then just drinking it straight out of the bottle. whoo hoooo!
anyway - talked to my hay guy so that is on the agenda tomorrow. he's a decent sort and is giving us a deal. we're getting some older mix for $1 a bale. he says its good enough for cows (no cows here!) and is better for bedding. so we're going to use it to bed down the turkeys and chickens so they can peck around it in.
thats the scoop here. for now i'm gonna go and finish watching the Victorian farm. whooot!
