My TJ's has bacon. Probably not low sodium bacon though.

hey everyone!

can you believe we went to civilization AGAIN!??!? this time we took the pup for her rabies shot. of course i was the one who had a total mommy breakdown... but she was fine.

and she was the hit of the office - she was very well behaved and was very cute. they all loved her curly little tail and wiggly butt. she thought it was great until she got her shots then she wanted to go home. now she is a little out of sorts but thats expected.

SD - are you kidding?! i loaded up on cheese - they have a great selection.

no coffee, Free... but tons of chocolate.

i got Starbucks today - it was my reward for having such a stressful day. Kai was fine but i had a mommy breakdown b/c she's a big girl now and i'm the mommy that nobody wants. altho at this second, picture me covered in cats and the big dogs pawing around desperately wanting something from me...and we need to go outside and do chores ha!

so here is a funny from our adventure yesterday. we went to a sit down burger place (of course i got french fry poisoning, a grease headache, and a sugar high from having a soda....).. and the people next to us were having a HUGE discussion about their upcoming dinner party. they all agreed to have Ohio grown products only and it was a big to-do for them.

we both laughed at each other and snickered. i wanted to say to them that our "local" products are ones we can see in our yard... but we didnt want to rain on their parade or freak them out. and yay that they were even thinking about it.

but we still laughed. and yes we both got sick from eating 'off farm' food.. neither one of us had dinner and i sat there with my burger belly eating a bag of carrots and wondering if you really could die from a french fries overdose.

thats our news here
:)

Glad you had fun. Yes, I do believe you can die from french fry overdose, but only crappy fast food ones, not homemade ones cooked in real tallow or lard!

Hey! That reminds me! Tonight would be a great night for me to try some fries made with organic potatoes...after reading somewhere on this forum about the sprout inhibitors...which I knew existed, but have avoided potatoes for so many years that I never thought about them, especially since I am mostly LGI. But I C-R-A-V-E real french fries on occasion....everyone should indulge a craving now and then, especially if it is for REAL food!

I ate a small potato on Sunday and did not have a reaction. It was organic. I have a few left. French fries tonight!!!! Thanks for the idea, OFG!

Oh, and dh surprised me with a Griswold dutch oven, minus the lid, from our local antique store. I'd been drooling over it for months. No one was buying it, rusted out and no lid. I went in to look at it again a couple of weeks ago, and got all practical and bought a medium frying pan instead, a size I need but didn't have. I measured the other pot to see if any lids I have at home would fit. Nope.

I will clean it up and then use it for frying, storing the grease right in it in the downstairs fridge. Yippee! And will keep an eye out for a lid.

Enjoy your wine! I think I'll have a little liqueur tonight, I have not imbibed in a week or so, even though I joke about it a lot.

fast food :sick

I always end up sick from a trip when Tony and I hit the road into the "big town" we want to eat somewhere fast and BOY do we pay for it....gut wise when we get home! :(

I finally got Tony after many years of training to order water at all restaurants. Finally no more sodas....well he does sneak on in every now and then :smack

glad you had a "good" time

I wish we had a TJ's around here! And our nearest Whole Foods is at least an hour away. Oh well, probably too expensive anyways.

I'm glad to hear those people were talking about having only "local" food at the party, even though their local and your local are way different, OFG! I love hearing "townfolk" :)lol:) talking about more natural eating and getting to know their food supply.

And now I'm going to go home and make french fries, thanks to all the talk about wonderful fries fried in lard. :drool
