Just passin' through on my way to do yet another check on Purl. I think she's toying with me....me checking on her every 2 hours and her enjoying all the attention.

i know.. BBH! i cant help myself. i have a big ol' hunk of goat gouda on the counter that i'm always nipping at and i always say to myself, in a singsong voice, "i'm cut-ting the cheeeeeseeee"

it just makes me laugh!

How hard is it to make mozeralla(preferably with the correct spelling? big_smile )

dang. i havent got it right yet. there has to be some tricks to using goats milk that i just dont have. i've tried it a couple times but havent had any luck. my mozz is always squeaky. how weird is THAT? cheese that squeaks when you cut it *snort*

SD started a 'new to cutting the cheese' thread - maybe someone has some ideas over there?

Freemotion is also a big cheese cutter so she might know. baby you out there?

I wish I could help you with that mozzarella. I made something like 8 batches and only one came out really good, one came out sorta ok, the rest were cheese but NOT mozzarella! H23 does a good job with it......Hen? You out there?

Now you are starting to sound like my family.

Hubby does not think "wind" is funny at all and says he married into the "wind-happy" family. But he uses a word starting with F.

We always blame it on the dog....

I'm here! Most of my batches of mozzarella have been good. I did have one batch go "squeaky". I think I over handled it?Or it wasn't hot enough when I stretched it. Haven't had enough milk from Donki to make cheese lately and with all our snow days haven't bought raw milk to make it either.
We need to laugh about cutting the cheese. I don't think my students know what it means!!

java - there is so. much. water. out there. the ducks are in a fit of glee and everyone else is just mad.

but at least the neighbor's buck went back to the barn. for now. not so much goat screaming now.

We lucked out and didn't get much. Of course everything is ice covered but a little salt will take care of that. I guess Cleveland got hit bad with ice. A lot of people have no power and some schools that were going to use this as a makeup day had to cancel school. We are supposed to get 2-4" of snow between today and tomorrow though.
