Challenge already met - did it with fresh cow cream and they hated it. I gave up.

Well I'll have to tell Ginger that some HERD QUEENS have beards too and she won't be so embarassed about facial hair. That picture of Vita with Lucky was precious. I'll have to show it to Ginger.

Java what about goats milk fudge? I'm dying to try that.....

:pop I'm SO glad we got to hear the duck song.....:gig Yourbadd, your hubby is badd, too! I bet the kids go into hysterics. For some reason they always think toots are funny, especially boys! Thanks for the show....can we dim the lights now? Who put all this bacon in the popcorn?

OFG did you stir your laundry soap yet? I'm doin' wash like nobody's business.............make sure you get it all stirred up really well and then you are ready to whirl......the washer that is.

Add a little antifreeze, like commercial ice cream. That may be the missing flavor....

Just kidding!!!! :p

OFG, I tried a third time to comment on your blog. Let me know if I figured it out yet. I'm such a computer dunce!

Vita looks great, just a bit deflated!

Java, last year when I first tried goat milk I also thought it had an "off" taste. Not spoiled, but just different. I made myself drink 2 glasses of it and after that I couldn't taste a difference. After I drank goat milk for a while I thought storebought milk tasted bad. :) I can't wait for June to freshen in a few weeks!

hmm, maybe I just need to allow my taste buds to get used to it. I've been giving it to my youngest daughter all week - today she saw the jar and said "that looks just like my milk, but I don't like it" Kids :he

..and I know that fake ice cream is bad stuff, but I have tried to get them off of it and hubby goes right back to buying it because 'he forgot' :smack I gave up trying. How he can be so smart and yet so dense is beyond me.

I'm glad you mentioned your latte, Java. I had read somewhere that goats milk is not good in coffee.

I think it is great! I normally drink 1 percent milk and adding this to my coffee tastes like adding rich cream. I tried it the first time just now. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wonder if it is what you feed your goats? I swear Java my milk tastes really good.
I can't get my family to try it though. I think they will try the cheese, fudge and ice cream and soap of course though, but that just means all the more for me! I'm actually the milk drinker of the family.

Jav - I'm not partial to drinking goat milk, but I have 7 milk goats (OK, 5 with two kids). I'm not a huge milk drinker, though, so milk always tastes bad or spoiled to me. This year I'm going to try a different method while milking - I'm going to put an icepack in the milk pail to cook the milk immediately as it comes out. Maybe that'll help...
See if you can come up with two pails that can nest. You an put ice cubes in between them, or just freeze them that way.
The other trick is to milk through a super thin cloth into the container that is going to store your milk.
Oxygen exposure is the biggest culprit when it comes to off taste.

I have been thinking about finding a super wide funnel that fits quart jars,
The funnel would be lined with a milk filter.
When its full, I can pop on the lid and put it straight into ice water in the sink.

Alrighty, back to gas
Have you all ever heard that chronic gas, is a sign that the gut is way out of order? Its not at all normal :old
Soak those beans with water and whey for 12-24 hours for starters you all. No more gas!

Dh rarely has issues anymore, and they used to be BAD.
Now that his gut is on track, the only time he has issues, is if he cheats on processed foods.
