so its been quite a week... rooster brawls, goats finding new and exciting ways to try and die.... general barnyard mayhem.....bitter cold. good times. day 29 of my winter incarceration is coming to a close and we can only hope for an uneventful day tomorrow.
but on the upside.. Fred the rooster is doing great. he is hanging out with the barn cats in the garage, my little goatie did not kid nor flop over dead, and there is some semblance of order in the disorderly ducks (i didnt even mention this as there wasnt any.. well there wasnt MUCH blood spilled). still hoping to survive the full moon. still cant believe the geese are still the best behaved.
i got some tips on how to set up the goatshed just in case my little goatie drops her babies early. i'll work on that when we get a bit warmer. but she looks to be in the clear.
just in case, tho, SOMEONE (*ahem*) kindly provided me with a goat curry recipe. you know who you are. thats cold baby.. cold. but hey, i'll hang onto it just in case.

Speaking of bread.....I pulled out an old Better Homes & gardens cookbook that I have had for well over 20 yrs and rarely crack open. I found a recipe for cinnamon swirl bread that I have been making once a week for the kids (since they are doing so well eating under the Iron Fist) as a breakfast treat, man that stuff is down right dangerous! I can't stay away from it and I typically don't eat bread OR sugar!
I like to tease you but I do hope that spring comes a bit early for you guys. Those cold temps are awful!

cinnamon bread - oh man - bring it on!!
and i think we are on our way to spring - its 19* whoot!
and i think i have a turkey loose so me and the dogs are going to suit up and go chase him down.
today is going to be a long day. i just spent 10 minutes teasing OD the gander thru the window. he was trying to peck my eyes out thru the glass.
oh geez. and its only noon. Day 30 of My Winter Incarceration slugs forward, slow as cold tar.
