hey! where the heck have i been when there were questions! yikes!

SD - i think you should cut the cheese with reckless abandon. cut the cheese like no one is looking! whoooot! i really love the fresh neufchatel - wow what a cheese! but it requires a special mold. see if you can get that "200 easy home made cheese recipes" book at the lib - its fantastic. if they dont have it, see if they can request it from somewhere. and sometimes you can find it cheap, used on amazon
:)

what farmer's cheese recipe are you using???

AL - was it salty? if not it was regular "fresh goat cheese" which is also called "chevre." which reminds me that i should start one today.

FF - see thats why i need sheep

DL - i dont see why not but Free just got a milking machine so we should see what she has to say

java, i'm running right over to say hi!

so

its hot here - like africa hot. like, turn on the AC hot. yesterday it was 87* the weather guy is calling it tropical like its some kind of vacation. but hot AND swampy? oh brother

but i got a ton of things done so i'm glad. today we are taking the big dogs to get their shots - and then we'll either sit around and drink b/c it was such an ordeal. or i'll see if i can get 2 scoops of compost from the cow guy.

thats the word here!

I love 87*! Although that is pushing the upper limits a bit. Gimme anywhere between 80-87 and I am happy. I have the 60s brrrrrrrrrr.

Aim not a fan of sheep milk cheese, something about the flavor that I just don't love. Goats milk, to me, is much smoother. I just bought a hard wedge of aged goat cheese, interested in how that one tastes. I love chevre. Especially on fresh tomatoes with a little EVOO and sea salt :drool

I would love to make cheese, it sounds really fun. :thumbsup

My most favorite thing to do on a hot day is attempt some outside work, but bring along some cold friends to help me do it.

Usually by the time the 3rd friend comes by I've had it with my project and just lay in the sun basking in the heat....with my cold friends nearby....

87 is nothing out here...when the humidity is only 20% or lower you don't even notice it. 87 and swampie is HORRIBLE. Used to deal with that in Wisconsin and I don't miss it one bit. Let me know if you need me to Fedex you a box of dry desert air.

If I bring cold friends with me outside, I get too distracted and then I have to take a nap :D

My cold friends usually arrive just in time to admire my completed work. I love giving them a tour of my little yard and point out all the work I did. They are always impresed with my gardening skills. :thumbsup

HA! I make my friends garden with me. The end result is always so much more distorted, but we have fun doing it.

They were especially useful when I was dealing with the rose bush from hell. My "ultra friends" as PCC called them all helped me gang up on that bush and put it out of it's misery. When the last arm tried reaching up from the ground, the ultra friends grabbed hold and yanked that arm out so fast the beast never knew what hit it.
