Oh man. At least you corrected the assumption for the rest of the folk in the store ;) Now only ONE person thinks you wanted him for a sugar daddy.

But if that was your goal, what a clumsy way to go about it. If it was that easy to find one, OFG, I'd already have one. ;)

ps: I woulda let you use my card.

pps: If he goes to your church, you can ask him if you can borrow some money for the collection tin.

Don't worry about it, it was just a misunderstanding. Probably gave him an interesting story to tell his wife.

oh man... aint that right! ha!

of course.. my hubby asked me what that guy at the store thought he'd be getting in return! ha!

oh well.

so

we were bamboozled today... just kinda. we went to a new Upick blueberry place - and they were closed! drat - it was kinda a long way to drive. the sign said they were open (as did their online advert) but i guess there was some kind of family emergency. oh well. next time.

at least we went to our favorite family run chicken place. and now everyone needs a nap!

:)

Was it The Blueberry Patch in Mansfield? We went there yesterday and bought 2 blueberry bushes. I want to have some blueberries. The blueberries and strawberries at the store look so bad.

nope. we're way south - past columbus.

and yeah ALL of the produce here is really bad. i saw some blueberries at one of the farm stands and they looked heavenly! so i was really hoping. i wiggled around in church and we busted right out of there - such was my blueberry madness. and then... closed.

there was an old guy there before us and he just picked 4 buckets and THEN went to find out why there were closed. i guess/hope he knew the folks.

we have several plants here - and i've covered them to try and keep the birds out. but ours arent mature/that big yet. probably enough for just one pie... but i just love the blue berries so i'm hoping for a huge haul.

:)

My blueberry bushes did not bloom this year :/ I don't know if it's from the weather or the soil. Probably all the stupid rain affected the soil  I'll have to test it and amend if needed.

I have peppers though! And I think I'll have at least some cherry tomatoes by next weekend :celebrate But I cheated and bought nursery plants that were already big ;)

Mine didn't bloom either, Java. I think it froze when they had their buds on.

My friend picked 68lbs of blueberries a couple of weeks ago. I was supposed to go yesterday but got hung up with obligations. I am just hoping we'll still be able to get some this weekend.

I am never disappointed when I check in on your journal....I can't believe that old man is mowing your hay again....next time just send all the big dogs over there to him and scare the crap outta him or fish that crazy cat outta the basement and send it over there. Can you put up a No Trespassing sign?
