Getting rid of all sugar in the diet will do wonders as well.
And looking at gluten is also a good thing too.

Neko, when it comes down to it, it's what he chooses to do to make himself feel better. Only so much you can foist on him to help him out.

Oh homemade gravlax! :drool

I wanted to also share some measl from my sadly restricted diet:

Breakfast is always a smoothie ( kefir, blueberries, spinach, coconut milk and liquid vitamin) yesterday the kids had bacon and eggs with cheese on top.

Lunch is usually a big salad....my fave is taco: big bed of romain, red onion, cuke, carrots, red bell, seasoned home made taco meat, shredded cheese, half of an avo, salsa, big squeeze of lime and extra virgin olive oil

Dinner: salad(baby romaines, sliced fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, basil, sea salt, EVOO, balsamic) along with wild salmon and shrimp en papillate (in parchment) on a bed of assorted veggies, asparagus, red bell, zucchini, mushrooms, julienne carrot, shallot, garlic, a pat of butter and a splash of wine. To die for!

This restrictive diet is the best way I have ever eaten :thumbsup

Or to live for!!! Eating this way has inspired me to pay more attention to what I eat and how I prepare it. I used to just dump some stuff together, heat it, and eat it. Now I plan on it, budget for it, anticipate it, shop for it or grow it, prepare it, and savor it. It can change your life in more ways than one!

You said it Sister!
Honestly I just never knew how crappy I felt everyday....until I cleaned up my diet and started feeling great!

I can't imagine going back to my old way of eating....this diet is not lacking in anything except the standard American garbage that somehow passes as food!

Exactly!!!

Okay, I have ALWAYS eaten better than most Americans. My dad was big on fresh food and the family meal together at dinner. Fresh salad every day. Very little boxed food. Top Ramen was snack food. After school junk food. It wasn't a meal.

But now it's not even in the house for emergencies LOL.

I just thought of this...Is anyone offended by the term "Paleo Diet"?

If so we should start a new thread called "Clean Food" as Dace so cleverly called it, or "Backyard Food" because you can grow it in your backyard if you had to--that in itself eliminates all processed foods.

I would like a thread to post ideas and share about the many ways to enjoy clean food, especially while I'm still in the learning process.

Any thoughts? Or is this thread sufficient?

I didn't know if it would offend any of our Creationsits on SS.

So I started my own thread on gluten/grain/legume/dairy-free.
