Our JBG hen, Lou, has been going broody every 6 months since she was 6 months old! :D

If she stays on that track, I would expect her to go broody again around April, which would be 6 months after she kicked QA's chickerdoodles out of the nest.

Okiemommy, I would expect that she just wasn't seriously broody. When my ladies are serious, I move them into the house... they stay broody regardless of their habitat, ime.

I have a Buff Orp hen right now who's religiously sitting on a gold ball....and we get pecked near to death if we reach under her to get it!

Stepped on the scale this morning!! 184.6!! :celebrate

My DH also said we could get one of the Great Pyr puppies!! It was MY idea so if I ever complain about the dog.... :smack ME!! LOL!!! Now we just need to work out the details to get it from TN. DH said that if the this breed is as good with kids as they say then he is ok with it. I want a dog that will not let other dogs mess with the kids if they are playing in the yard.

If I calculated correctly...and didn't mess them up....I should be having some quail eggs hatching tomorrow!! I saw two eggs wiggling yesterday! So now I am just watching and waiting!! :pop
You all remember this post right?
We (ok I) decided not to get the puppy. My mom is ready to kick my butt because REALLY thinks my kids NEED a dog! I figured with my bp not yet under control that a puppy would just be a LOT of stress right now! The hair in the house, poop all over the yard for the kids to step in and track in, and what if it piddled on the floor??? I figured it just was not something I should be dealing with right now. Hopefully another Great Pyr puppy will come along when I have more energy.

I agree, you probably DO have enough going on now without adding a puppy to the mix. Great Pyr puppies don't stay "small" for very long!

Is that your belly cast, you are talking about?

I did a belly cast and I had pregnant pictures done the same day. A friend of mine is a professional photographer and I traded tutus (pictured on my blog) that she can use in her photos for a potrait of me pg. I asked her to watermark a picture for me so that I can put it up on my blog when it is done (retouched). I had a black and white picture taken with just my 'top' covered with a black sheeting and my waist down covered so all you see is me looking down at my belly with my hands on my belly. I know several of the pictures came out really nice. I want to hang it on the wall next to my belly cast next to the crib in my bedroom.
I told her that she could use my picture as a 'model' on her website so if she does I will post a link.

My DH is MAD!!!! :somad His cousin bought his grandma's house about 6-8 years ago and just lost it in forclosure. Sheriff sale was a couple days ago. The house is in between his brother's, mother's and aunt's house. We used to live there with his grandma and aunt Mary when we first got married but, his cousin said she wanted to buy it so we opted to move (distance makes the heart grow fonder.)
I guess the part that would make me mad is that she never told any of us...DH or his brother...so they could have helped keep it in the family. (Not sure I would have let him put the $$ out for it though.) His cousin is moving in with her mom who lived next door.
She has 30 days to get out. So, DH just told his brother he would go help him move his grandpa's old stuff out of the back shed this weekend. I had already asked him to ask his mom to watch the kids so he could take me out to dinner for Valentine's Day....because I have not been out of the house in FOREVER!! He has the men's breakfast in the morning so he can not go move the stuff until afternoon. I am thinking moving the stuff on Sunday is a better plan.
I guess DH's aunt is the only one that knew about the forclosure. DH's brother is now talking about refinancing his house and buying the house off the realtor that bought it if it does not sell right away because that would give him time to catch up on his own finances....crazy!!

That bites PP! :somad I know I would be livid too. My parent's sold my grandmothers property after the May 3 Tornado. Never asked any of us if we would like to buy it from them, let alone give it to any of us. That would be unthinkable.

Thank you KJM and Quail. Note to self: A good broody hen is an attack hen :p

Mine was fussin' at me a little bit, and pecked once, but that was about it. We moved her eggs and she just left them :( I sure hope they weren't developing yet :( I didn't open them to see, was newly pg and barfy at the time. Shoulda had husband do it.
