Well, I heard a little more about 'why' she lost the house. We thought she 'quit' her job about two years ago. Found out that was NOT true!! Her mom (DH's aunt) is now on the verge of loosing everything because she 'bailed her out' (take that as almost literally). Oh, if I was DH's aunt I would be spitting nails everytime I heard his cousin talking about 'quitting' her job and not having the hours that she was working at Subway working out for her. Or everytime she mentioned how much help and foodstamps she got. Or how she did not want to go work for her own foodstamps because it was the equivalant to working for $2 an hour and her three kids foodstamps are enough. Or how she lives with her boyfriend and does not claim him as living there so she can get welfare. Or bragging about how they were the most agreeable couple that ever walked into the child support office....welll yeah because the $$ came straight back to him because he was living with her!! I would be spitting nails!! I am so glad she did not come to us and ask for $$ to save the house because my DH would have done it!!

That bites PP! :somad I know I would be livid too. My parent's sold my grandmothers property after the May 3 Tornado. Never asked any of us if we would like to buy it from them, let alone give it to any of us. That would be unthinkable.

Thank you KJM and Quail. Note to self: A good broody hen is an attack hen :p

Mine was fussin' at me a little bit, and pecked once, but that was about it. We moved her eggs and she just left them :( I sure hope they weren't developing yet :( I didn't open them to see, was newly pg and barfy at the time. Shoulda had husband do it.
Okiemommy, my JBG hen never pecks, not even when she is broody but she does growl then if we get too close to the eggs! :D I would suggest that if you have a place to move a broody, do it at night. Moving broody hen and the eggs at the same time seems to work best for us.

I know how you feel. My uncle is moving in with my granny esther cause he and his wife just lost their house. (These are the same people that stole around $100000 from my parents and got my dad in trouble with the irs because they didn't file taxes for the company business) We are just finding out about it now but they have been threatening to foreclose since November and they are just now telling someone about it. Sad to say but I think they are on drugs. My aunt just doesn't look right, she looks like she's on meth...losing all her teeth, brown spots on her face, nosebleeds. I don't know. It's sad but they brought it on themselves. I have no sympathy for them. I just hope they don't end up stealing from my grandmother.

What an unfortunate situation for your both.

Lori speaking from experience... After my mom had a stroke two years ago we thought having my 55 year old homeless brother move in to help care for her would be beneficial to them both. Turns out he was homeless due to drugs and alcohol. He is now completely brain fried, and just got his new teeth from the Va. It is very scary I call my mom often just to check on her. Sometimes she goes for two days without seeing him. There used to be a lot of verbal abuse but I think now he just leaves. When my sister "visits" I am sure she is a supplier, things have a tendency to disappear. Please keep an eye on your Grandma. let your Aunt feel your presence and tell her you are watching her.

I have a huge family and I guess a few rotten apples are bound to happen. Focus on the Good!!! g
