I should have kept reading before I posted!
Here is question 2: The author writes of rules of class and privilege that are developing in
Moscow. What does he mean by this, and how are these rules affecting the city and its people?

His Response: It is effecting the city and its people because if you have money in Moscow, you might live in a gated mansion outside town and send your kids to boarding school in the Alps; you also might meet your end in a contract hit, blown to smithereens by a bomb ignited by state-of -the-art remote control.
:ep

Now I am off to read the actual article to see what it says!

We have a Viking store about 10 minutes out past the mall...about 45 minutes from me.
I have been trying to think of ways that I can make $1200 all day! Considering how much I use my serger now...and with all the features this machine has...I know I would get my monies worth out of it!! But, $1200 is still a LOT of $$!!
Back in the 80's I got a Husqvarna Viking for about $500 new. When we moved to Texas, I set up my sewing area in the garage, which was attached to the house and just off the kitchen. I could be sewing and keeping an eye on dinner at the same time, so I loved the set up.

Then I got busy at work on a special project for over a year, and so put the machine back in its case. When we went to move, it was missing - someone had actually stolen it from our garage! :ep

I was heartbroken....

I just spent $1300 on my new machine...a Viking Sapphire 830. I got it on the payment plan, 12 months no interest no payment. I put $500 down and then bought some extra presser feet and bobbins and needles so I owe about $900. I figured that we just paid off our computer and we were already spending $100 a month on that (also on a payment plan) so we wouldn't miss the money anyway and Chad told me that he has gotten his trailer for the company (which we bought), and he has gotten a new gun, and a few other little things and that it was my turn to do something for myself for a change. I am looking forward to getting to actually use it! I've been too busy outside to sew anything yet, and I also want to go to goodwill to see if I can find some sheets or shirts to use for materials to practice my free motion quilting. It was soooooo hard for me to take the plunge and spend that much on myself but I am hoping to start making some bags and quilts and such that I can actually sell.

I am seriously considering this Evolve Baby lock serger:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Babylock-Evolve...8286&_trksid=p4295.c0.m299&_trkparms=240:1318

This is the machine that the lady at the show said was $2800 and just dismissed it to show me the $1200 machine. I am glad I came home and looked on ebay because I would be very upset to walk out of there with a $1200 machine when there is a much bigger better model going for $900 (for now).
DH said I could get it but I just do not want to spend that kind of money! If I sewed more or did professional stuff and had a business I might be able to justify spending that kind of money but for now I will just start saving up for one!

I had the one chick hatch this morning and I see no other pips in the 'bator at all!! I have not opened it up at all...so I am very proud of myself. According to my calculations they were not supposed to start hatching until Tuesday night or Wednesday.
