Oh, I forgot...I also went to Goodwill. And those derned sheets just keep catching my eye!! I got a white sheet with pretty pink flowers on it for a $1! I also got 13 yo DS a pair of black dress shoes for $4.49. Tomorrow and Saturday are half price days....so I may have to convienently go by the other Goodwill and see what they have while I am out tomorrow!
Half price days??? I wish. Our good will is kinda new. They have senior, student and military discounts. Which I don't qualify for any. I keep asking when the sale day is??? They were over pricing everything. I think all the kids clothes are supposed to come down to 99 cents. That would help.

Kids clothes are a $1.99 here. The half price days are the last Friday and Saturday of every month at all of my local Goodwills (the half price only applies to donated material not new.)
Short sleeved shirts are $3.29 and long sleeved shirts are $3.79. Mens shoes are $4.49 and kids shoes are $3.29. Jeans are $5.99. Sheets are $2.99 or $5.98 for a set. Pillowcases .99. Tableclothes $3.99. Comforters are $7. Formal wear is $9.99. That is all the prices I can think of off hand.

Here is the stack in my dinning room right now, it is what it is. Big ole stacks of sugar and flour, I know you might be thinking " for his bread practice ", that was almost the case. LOL.. Dang yeast, :barnie

For 65.00 bucks, I bought a damaged pallet of goods from Sams club. It included 200 pounds of flour ( mixed bread and all purpose ) and 225 pounds of sugar, cane sugar not beet sugar. I sized the sugar up to make jam this summer, I will tell, I needed the flour for bread too, :fl

It was a cash and carry deal, sametime I bought the "extra fruit trees" that were damaged.

I spent 130 bucks for the pallet of goods and for 8 fruit trees, the pallet of goods is good to go, the fruit trees have been damaged from shipping, just a little TLC will be all that is needed to get them strong, I hope...

If it is a broken top, or broken limbs on your fruit trees, those usually (well I guess it depends on what kind of fruit trees you purchased) get pruned anyway, so it might just set them back on bearing fruit. If the trunk was damaged, you'll need to cover it with something to prevent disease from setting in. DH suggested a non toxic paint if the bark is tore up that you should be able to get at any nursery or Lowes.

My DH said to suggest the book Guide to Growing Delicious Vegetables, Fruits, & Herbs. That's where he read the tips on the fruit trees I wanted. Good luck! I hope you get tons of fruits from those trees. Fruit trees (or any food bearing plant IMO) is a great find!

Pam, how cool that your Goodwill has 1/2 days. Our Goodwills down this way charge as much for used clothes as the retail stores charge for new! I tend to keep to yardsales for the kids summer/winter play clothes (YAY YARDSALE SEASON IS COMING!!) and we usually purchase 1-2 new going away outfits for the kids each year.

I LOVE garage sales but I tend to over buy at them!! If it is really cute stuff I tend to walk away with more clothes than my kiddos could possibly wear!! Therefore overspending!

That is a LOT of sugar!! I can't remember the last time I bought sugar.

I think the goodwill stores around here are overpriced too but my bf said the one over in Farmville is better. I just haven't been able to get over there yet, it's about a 30 minute drive for me. My hubby is not a fan of Goodwill but I am. I want to make some clothes for dd but she already has 3 boxes of 3T clothes in my bf's attic from her daughter that I have to go through so there isn't a reason to make her anything. I found some really good sites with tote bags and purses though and I can't wait to use my new machine, yeah pitiful isn't it, got it 2 weeks ago and still haven't used it yet. UGH.

I would love to buy in bulk and stock up but I just don't have anywhere to put anything. :/

Hey Kel...have you tried the "Hamburger rocks"? Im wondering how those work out? Could you possible use pork? I have LOTS of sausage...from 2 pigs! I guess I can cann it...grandma always did. Hmmmm. What to do...what to do!?? :/
Justusnak - I have not tried the recipe. But when I found it, I thought that it was pretty neat. I mean, it won't make burgers on the grill - but there are tons of recipes for ground meat.

If you can it in bulk inexpensively or grind some of your own home-grown meat, it seems like a way to store without worrying if the freezer is going go in the next natural disaster.

If you do try it - Please Post the results. I would love to hear them.

Hey, PP! Are you going to Andover or another Goodwill store? Those are some great prices!

Mine has the senior and military days and the rest of the week one color tag will be half off. Like today (Friday) it was half off green tags. Sometimes it's red or blue tags, it depends on the day of the week for us. And usually for clothes they will say "T-Shirts .99 cents unless otherwise marked" if it's brand new (still with a tag from Old Navy or where ever) it will be like $1.99. I had a friend that did community service at a Goodwill, and I shop there a LOT. Maybe they're all different?

PamsPride, is your name base of off the yarn Lambs Pride? Because that's what I think of when I read your name, lol~

I went to the Goodwill in Hermitage yesterday and I just HAD to go to the Goodwill in Warren today!! Another sheet just jumped itself right into my arms!! This one was a white with pretty purple flowers and then I also got a matching plain purple sheet from another set to go with it. So that was $2.99 for the both of them. Then I also got myself three more shirts. They were half off of $3.29 for each of those.

Nope, I got the name PamsPride from a couple of my stamping friends who helped me come up with my blog name. I wanted a name that was not just about my children or just about my crafts but about everything I have going on in my life. I have never heard of Lamb's Pride before.

Well, we were supposed to take a bus to the sewing convention tomorrow. I called to make sure of what time we had to meet the bus and the lady said "That was TODAY!!" Yep! We missed the bus!! $32 for each ticket down the drain!! My mom was TICKED!! We could have sworn it was a Saturday trip not a Friday trip. So, I am going to drive tomorrow. I am not upset at all. I know she did not do it on purpose and stuff just happens. And we are still going to go tomorrow I just have to drive so no biggy. Driving does not bother me at all.

We went to my moms for dinner tonight. She made homemade meatballs. So we had meatball subs. Then my mom and brother made homemade ice cream because my brother has an ice cream maker. OMG!! It was so GOOD!!!!! It was so rich and creamy...vanilla! YUMMO!!!
