welli was gonna take a trip to the flea market todaybut its COLD...actualtemp right now is 28 degrees with the "feel like" temp of 20! thats just a little too far below my comfort zone for a trip to the outside.
buns for food and warm water this morning...will probably have to redo the water this afternoon too...
i put a good extra couple handfulls of hay in bluebell and acorns boxes, today is day 28, so want to make sure they not only have plenty to eat but if they decide to start nest building they need pleanty of bedding, this cold weather is supposed to be in untill tuesday which is their actual due date. bt you knw how bunnies can be lol...they could decide to go a tad early a tad late or not go at all lol, but ill be checking on them twice a day for now just to be sure of whats going on.

we are getting little flurries of snow every now and then but not enough moisture to realy go for it...monday however theres rain, sleet, ice and snow in the forecast for most of the day.
then itll be back into the 50-60's by mid week...
talk about wacky weather!

ive got the heater on medium right now, this is the first time all winter ive had to have that thing cranked up to medium for more than an hour...cant realy complain though, its not been a bad winter thus far...and spring wll be here soon!

nothing planned for today, gonna head out tomorrow morning for a sunday paper, milk, oatmeal...you know...the nessecities. i might also take that time to run to lowes and walmart and get my first batch of raised bed filler so i can get a start on that next week. cant afford to do them all this month, but can probably get a couple done before doing the others in march.

TSC has the fencing i need on sale, almost $11 cheaper than it would be in lowes so ill probably try and pick up a roll of fence before the end of the month...i can then get the t-posts in march and have it up before april.
that is a nessecity with the ducklings on there way for the 22nd of feb, theyll be ready for the great outdoors by the end of march.
once the duckligns are hear i can fous on getting the garden and plantings going...i think the ducks and rabbits and plantings are going to remian the focus for this spring and summer...
money wise it just makes more sense to go slow with this despite what id LIKE to do.
in the summer ill focus on getting the chicken coop and pens set up, and then for fall get the goat pen sorted...
right now im thinking ill probably be looking for a first freshenr with doeling kid...or a first freshener and a seperate doeling kid so that i wont be starting 100% from square one and will have at least 1 milkable goat for spring. i can alternate breed them then so ill always have 1 goat in milk

im also hoping this year to have some linnie babies out of cricket and lokie and id LOVE to find a parrotlet pair, i already have the cage for them...but finding them is difficult...i may see if mum and dad can bring me a pair when they come up...lots of breeders in ct/ny/pa areas...but aparently not so much in this area.

and on that note...off to go fill my craiglist habit lol

Pinky, if you lived in this area, I'd take you to an auction they have on Friday evenings. You can often get really nice used furniture for dirt cheap. I was going to go last night, but I was just too beat. :/

theres probably stuff like that around here too...my biggest issue isnt realy so much of finding it...but getting it home lol...ive got visions of me driving down the highway with the top down on my sebring and a loveseat procariously twedged semi into the back seat and tied on with bits of rope lol

im hoping by this time next year i can start looking into getting a truck.

Now if you lived closer, that wouldn't be a problem since I have a truck. :/

well he finally got back to me on the loveseat...from the picture it looks like itll match my existing chair almost perfectly (which wasnt important since i can always put slipcovers on but hey...mathcing set for the win?! lol.

right now the possible plan is to meet him at the grocery store in the morning, (i have to go anyway as i need milk and mondays supposed to be a messy weather day which mean im going nowhere) hell have the loveseat with him, i can take a look and if itll work in my livingroom he'll follow me home.

told him gimme a time and ill be there...hes knocked $10 off the price to include delivery as well...so i think its a good buy if itll work out...means i dont have to scramble next month to try and find something when mum and dad do come to visit and its one less thing for me to keep looking for/worrying about.

so yeah, fingers crossed...

and i had to turn the heat back to medium :( its COLD tonight!

watchign the end of iron chef and then its bedtime!

oh and i might have found someone to give me horse riding/care lessons.
Ive wanted to take lessons for a while and it was my "prize" for reaching my 165 goal...but given some of the ways my brain cooties work its a little daunting...but this woman claims shes worked with alot of special needs riders, everything from simply ADD to autistics and downs...
So this might work out well :)

gonna see if we can figure out lessons for chores kind of exchange and mabe meet up on weds so she can asses my abilities so far...
(which ill be honest consists of safely getting on and off the horse lol, ive ridden on led trail rides, but ive never actually truly controled the horse...they jus tplay follow the leader so i cant say i have any real skills in control lol. i do know the technical aspects, i also know what it feels like to be in a saddle with a horse under me so i guess ive got a head start on some.

she woudl also teach me how to care for a horse, everything from grooming and foot care to feeding and stable care, and how to put the tack on ect...
and once my general riding skills are good enough she says we could work on sulkie/carting

i refuse to get my own horse untill i can do all of it safely alone and confidently...and i REALY want a couple of small drafters to ride/cart with (fjords...*drool*)
so this could be seriously cool!

*fingers crossed*

oh well its 11:15 and time for bed...gonna drag the dogs out for 1 last potty break and then its night night time lol

Pinky, that's the best way to do it. While I wanted a horse for as long as I could remember, I knew NOTHING about caring for one. I had groomed and tacked up a horse B4 (learned at camp), had controlled a horse B4 on my own (camp, riding someone's pony and a few lessons), but I had no idea how to feed or really care for one from day to day. Then, I met RU thru KN. And, I leased a horse from her for 6 months. I had decided NOT to continue to lease during the winter months because I wasn't sure how much I'd get to ride, and had planned on waiting until spring and lease from her again. Then, she called me up and wanted to know if I wanted a free, chestnut Arabian mare. And, that was how I got Binty. I learned a lot from having her. When I lost her to colic, I got Misty. And then went from full care w/just feeding the horses if I was there to self care. You'll never know everything-no one does-but I've learned so much that most people are shocked when they realize I haven't grown up around horses. It's a never ending learning experience.

baby its COLD outsidE
another 21 degree morning, todays high slated to be 36 degrees *brr*
took me a good 1/2 hour in a hot sink to thaw through the rabbits bottles, but they now have warm water to last thorugh untill it freezes again. the ground is solid too.
i mean we need a good hard freeze to keep the bugs under control...but still brrr lol.

the lady with the horses got back to me...
the problem...she doesnt have a barn so no chores to exchange and she wants $20 a lesson...now i know thats not realy that much...but my budget is tight and untill those rabbits start producing for me the budget is even tighter...i dont realy have $20 a month extra for 1 lesson a monht, lt alone $20 a week...
si im going to tell he funds are just not doable...i understand she wants to make some cash too so i get it...its just...i realy do wish people would read an add before replying to it...my add clearly states i do not have ANY free cash but would happily do barn/farm ect chores to cover a couple of lessons a month...

oh well.
we'll see.

in othernews...
today ive got to get dressed and head on out to the grocery store a little later, take a look at that loveseat and hopefully itll work. part of me hates the thought of spending money on furniture...the other part of me says "you cant have guest sitting on the floor..."
mums talking about comming to see me soon (early march) and i dont want to be scrambling then.

just means im going to have to ask for a little temporary help from them to get that kitchen floor done before they come out to see me...(it needs to be done before they come out...)

i wonder if anyone ever actually iwns with Publishers clearing house...
every morning i enter all ther sweepstakes, play the games ect...so far ive won about 50 entries to their sweepstakes, but nothing more than flash...it woudl be awesome to actualy win something tangable!
