ugh...some people...
i placed an add a couple days back looking for local folks with big dog friendly dogs looking for doggy playdates to drop me an emial...

in the add i started that this puppy is currenlty 40lbs, a rough player and a bully mix...

because of that im looking for people with BIG dogs (his size now or larger) over 6 months old (so they can teach him some manners) and no more than 1 hour away from us so we can meet at least once a week for crazy playtime
i also stated that because he is a bully mix he could become same sex agressive as he gets older, so were ideally looking for neutered males (so they wont be a threat) or spayed females, ideally spayed females to avoid future conflict... (id hate to make a doggy buddy only to not be able to hang out because dozer MAY decide he doesnt like other big male dogs...)
i explained that given his size and the way he plays mastif and bulldog mixes would probably be the best choice...
and unforutnatly i cant be within 25ft (or the same house) as a lab, golden, husky or malamute without brsting into sneezing fits (oddly those are the only 4 breeds that seem to bother me) so no labs, goldens husky or mals because i wouldnt want to ruin the fun by having a major allergy attack...

well i get an email that in no uncertain terms is telling me im too picky and should not own dogs and just buy a stuffed animal instead..WTF is wrong with people?!
you relay want my 40lb 17 week old american bulldog playing with a chihuahua?! he can fit the cat and jasper almost completly into his mouth! (and does with Willow with great frequnecy...unforutnatly she seems to like it lol) or you want to meet up somewhere and spend the next hour not able to chat because im having serious sneezing fits due to having a playdate with your lab?! i mean realy?!

i think as a human being im ALLOWED to be picky...
animals i know...dogs...i KNOW....this is what ive done my entire life is work with these beasties...
i know what kind of dogs would work for Dozer as a playmate...BIG female and rambunctious...
i knwo what kind of dogs i can personally be around too...

why should i compromise (and have it potentially end very badly, as i have no doubt that dozer could seriously injure a dog if their play styles and sizes wernt a good match...) when theres thousands of dogs in the state that would be a good match for him...

GRR ARG!

anywho...

so, you manage to unload that crazy whackjob rabbit this morning cindi?!
cant wait to see your grenhouse all set up...i would love to put a greenhouse in eventually. :)

Haven't unloaded the nut yet. I am not going to be able to make it to the flea market today with the kids...I'd NEVER get out of there empty handed!! So i am gonna place a CL ad.

I can't wait for the greenhouse to get finished!!!!!!! I am anxiously awaiting the final touches!!

So bring Dozey over and we'll try a play date with Kitty...she might be a butthead at first, but now that he's bigger she might actually play with him a bit. We can start leashed intro and go from there. It just takes her forever to get used to a dog, and his smell has been here enough she might be okay. She might put him down a time or two, she did our other female bully, but she won't hurt him. Her big fat tail could stand the exercise anyway, and who knows...maybe they can chase squirrels together eventually. It might be good for both of them.

People just like to judge, plain and simple. Ignore them, especially since you have a doggie date from here!

well hit up walmart, found a $20 bill next to the plants and dirt they had set up so i decided it was a sign and bought 2 of the small azeleas ive been drooling over since the N.Jackson store brought them in almost a month ago, 6 bags of hummus/compost, and milk and didnt spend a penny out of my bank account *YAY* sure that money should have gone in the bank...or put towards my credit card, but i figure it was laying there next to all the gardening stuff (it was actually partially trapped under the pallet of the compost lol) so it was a higher powers way of saying BUY THIS!
i also replaced the broken thermometer so at least thats all sorted now.
will have to go up to jackson the first week od march and pick up a big block of peat moss (cant afford it this month) and that should fill the 2 smaller beds.
going to need another 18 bags of compost and 1 1/2 blocks of peet to fill the 2 larger beds...
and if i can get the last bed built another 6 bags and 1/2 a block of peat for that one.
so 24 more bags of compost/hummus and 3 blocks of peat. for the 4 beds...thats $30 for the peat and $36 for the bagged compost.
add another 2 bags of compost/manure for each of the planned tater bins (im going to do 3 this year i think) so another 6 bags so another $9
growing suff is expensive LOL.
ive decided the bed ive not yet built will be my strawberry bed..i think ive got enough scrap wood to make it 2 tiered, we'll see when i get out there to play with the wood.

march also sees me building a gate for between the main yard and the rabbitry/ducky yard
that wont be aything fancy though and will just be made out of some cheap wood and some of the fencing...ill probably use the deck to hinge it to so i dont have to sink any wooden fenceposts for now...

id like to try and get some fruit bushes in in march too...but budget me tell me to go screw myself on that one.
fruit trees will have to wait untill fall this year, but i will be setting aside some money every month starting in may to go towards fruit trees in the fall...

once the fence is done, the veggie beds are done ect, some fruit bushes are in ext i can then spend late spring/early summer trying to finnihs out that front flower bed and once thats done i can prep for the goats and chickens.

so much stuff to do...why is my money tree not sprouting...if only monoply was real money!

Many years ago I had a dream that I found a hundred dollar bill while walking to the bus stop on my way to work. Guess what? On my way to the bus stop that morning I found a 10 dollar bill. I guess I dream big!

Pink, do you not put put vermiculite in your mix? What do you use instead? I have been searching for an alternative for it for a while - it's so pricey, I can't afford any more beds is I use the standard mix :/
