well woke up at 7 this morning, think i was just worried about the babies, got the dogs out and the bunnies fed then made up bottles while i put on outside clothes (that area has enough ticks that going down there in my PJs is not happening) then headed out to go feed my babies.
they both called to me when i said good morning, let them out and they were fine :)
lily imediatly wandered over for her bottle...
poppy...well shes a goat...and goats are stubborn...yup, still refusing the bottle, its aparently made of and filled with deadly poisen and im just a stupid human who doesnt realize the bottle is death in carnate...she even gives lilly this look that screams "betrayer!" lol.
shes picking at weeds and such so im not overly worried...

lilly is comming into herself, shes SOOOO sweet, she came right over (after i refused to give her bottle #3 lol) for head scritches and then half crawled into my ap so i picked her up and snuggled with her where she closed her eyes and snuggled down and just cuddled with me for a good 1/2 an hour, she loves her forehead and behind herears rubbed.
Poppy thought this was mighty interesting and i think Lilly is going to be the key to tamping down poppy the drama queen because while i was snuggling lilly poppy actually came over to see what was going on, and sniffed my hands and legs, something shes been too jumpy to do before, she even let me get a little scritch of the neck in before maa-ing at me and walking off to go nibble on whatever she could find that looks edible (its all goat safe lol)
this lil gal might just wean herslef early if the bottle continues to be such an issue, but im hoping shell get hungry enough that shell take it, would certinaly help build the trust.

i did find a couple of little Lice on Lilly, whihc means this afternoon is reasearch time to see what i need to do to get rid of them and keep them off...she doesnt need to be chewed on by nasty little lice. (mabe i need t buy a monkey lol, let the monkey play groom the goat LOL (only kidding...monkeys are cute but i dont think id ever willingly own one lol)

in other news...theres no bruise on my leg today, still just a big red welt...and its TENDER lol...my dad was laughing at me last night about it...said my blonde was showing then admitted hes done it himself a time or 2 and then his nurse side came out and he explained itll be realy tender untill the brising starts to come out which given the tension could take a few days...

came back inside after feeding the goats and dozer killed my oven mit, yup hes decided hes a good little cunter surfer and if its in reach its supposed to be chewed to death...*ugh* so im going to have to either start keeping mycounters spotless or gating him out of the kitchen. *rolls eyes* hes deifnatly entering the "naughty pre-teen" stage where hes going to push all the buttons he can to see what he can get away with...

oh well, need to give the disbudding guy a call and get that all out of the way today...figure one last seriously traumatizing experience for them and it might as well be imediatly so theyll forgive me quicker and can realy just settle in after this.

this afternoon ive got a duck brooder to completly dump out, clean and refill :sick its GROSS (its mostly just because of them playing in thier water, but still wet pine shavings and duck poop dont a good smell combination make LOL.

goats are officially traumatized...lol
beautiful set up these folks have and i told him il lbe in touch late fall to get myself added to his spring baby list, want a couple of does from him :) his babies were all so curious and friendly, came running over to say hi and get fusses. i hope these 2 sweeten up with the hands on.
very nice folks,we chatted a little, he disbudded both girls, poppy proved to be a challenge as her nubbins were a little big, but he did the job and said it shouldnt be a problem, he doesnt think they will scur, obviously no guarentees. Lilly was a little easier overall her nubbies were tiny compared.
got them home put them out in their pen and both promptly whent about nibbling again so i figured they shoudl be fine, checked on them a few misn ago and there sun bathing lol.

cleaned out the brooder, those duckeis can be seriously yuck! but at least their brooder is now clean. however, there also covered in gunk from aparently paddling in their waterdish then rolling in the food...so i may need to run a shallow bath for them to have a little splash in a little later.

mum sent me a "Care package" too (i love getting packages lol)

when i moved in here, me and the screen on the back door got into a rather serious argument...it kept trying to eat my foot (and i twisted my ankle a few times getting it stuck) and was generlaly evil in a fit of annoyance i removed the door (whcih when it comes to screen doors was about as usefull as trying to kepe water in a seive...as it was missing one seciont of screen (and the frame to hold the screen) completly...) so it got unscrewed and removed and glared at in passing many times.
the problem being then i couldnt open the back door wihtout being attacked by bugs...and it would be so nice to just leave the door open so the dogs and cats cna just go in and out at will...

well...mum heard my cries and sent me a magic mesh...now ive giggles at the silly advert for these things but figured hey, some kind fo screen is better than no screen and there is no way in heck this one can attempt to slam shut on my foot every time i try to use it so up it whent and its Awesome...
will it keep EVERY big out all the time...not likely...BUT it covers the door frame nicely length is perfect for my door, and dozer learnt how to use it imediatly! jasper took a few tries but has it down pat now...and ruby...well ruby is afraid of anything new so itll take her about 6 months of me holding it open for her to decide its not going to eat her....then probably another 3 months of watching the other dogs go in and out and me coaxing her before she figures out its not a solid seethrough wall and she can indeed just push right through lol. (ruby is my sweet sweet "special" little angel)
so YAY, i now not only can leave the back door open for a good cross breeze, BUT the dogs (2 of them at least) can come in and out as needed when it is...
i dont think itll take the cats long to figure it out either
YAY mommy! (she also sent mesome ox cubes and seasonings and coupons...lol.

had lunch outside, gave bluebell some extra straw as shes officially due to kindle tomorrow (im hoping for 8 lol, im expecting 6...) theres no fur in the nest yet, so im thinking itl be tomorrow nigiht into monday as opposed to tonight into tomorrow...but ive got fingers crossed for a nice big healthy litter there.
rowans then due in a little over 2 weeks so more crossed fingers.

but yeah, just chilling now for a little bit before bottle time for the babies...
then im goign to grab the drill power cords screwed and hammer and go and block the gaps in the pallet being used as a gate LOL.
then after that got some dishes to put away and some more to wash and set aside to dry (including the 3 teracotta pots i keep saying im going t get painted)
then i think im going to take a shower. i feel so grimey today for some reason.

Growing up, there was a family down the road that had a pet monkey - mean little turd! He was in a huge cage in their foyer and, if you didn't acknowledge him immediately when you entered, he dug in his diaper and flung poo at you :sick If you DID acknowledge him, he screeched at you. Did not like that nasty thing! Those same people had the most beautiful, huge salt water fish tank, with gorgeous fish in it. Rich city people from Chicago :/ They had 10 kids too, so they HAD to be loaded :gig

yeah i used to work with the primates, large and small and i dunno, after working with them, i dont think id go out specificlaly to get one...mabe rescue one if it was in dire need, but monkeys are NOT pets, infact they make the complete polar opposite of pets...they are realy god at throwing eating and smearing poop though LOL! pretty sure its a requirment to be considered a monkey. and your right, they can be SERIOUSLY mean...
the only monkeys id ever consider are pygmy marmosets...there so tiny and adorable (about the size of a large mouse/small rat) but even they can give you one very nasty bite.

I will admit though that i love lemurs...there not remotly as mean as monkeys or as into poop lol.

i find it funn though when talking to "monkey" people...theres the folks who have had moneksy for years...you talk to them and they tell you "i live with a monkey" then theres the "i just got a baby monkey cause its so adorable wanna see?!" people there easy to spot because they tell you they "have a pet monkey" lol. the experienced folks know..you dont HAVE a monkey and there not pets...you live with the monkey like you would a realy messy annoying roomate LOL
