Sometimes, that's all you can do. I had times when I was growing up when my Mom would say to me, find out such and such about your sister. Then my sister would say, don't tell Mom, but such and such. I finally told them that I didn't want to be involved. They were putting ME in the middle, and it wasn't fair. (Especially since my sister is 2 years older than I!)

i dont know if any of you are dr who fans...

but today we lost a wonderfull person who played a big part of the dr who universe for many years...
Elisabeth Sladen...
yes, the amazing woman who played sarah jane in those old dr whos, and in reacent years had her own spin off 'the sarah jane chronicles' and made guest apearances in dr who and torchwood.

she lost a hard battle with cancer at 63 yrs old.

good bye sarah jane...you will be missed.

having a blast here in tn, the weather is co-operating nicely.

got here on wednesday, did some grocery shopping and had a quiet night in, hotel provided dinner

thursday we whent out to look at 5 houses, of those 2 are still strong contenders...
#1 is a house in pulaski tn, cute, small would need a 1/2 bath added asap as the only bath is through the bedroom...kinda an odd layout but workable. 2.3 acres and the owners got some wiggle room on the price.
it is having a septic issue (broken pipe most likley as theyve been parking a truck on wet ground in the area leading to the septic...)
the floor in the bedroom by the bathroom door is a little dipped...bad structure mabe? none of the other floors are dipped/unlevel and the celings are all level...
the 2nd bedroom is a makeshift, looks like its been mabe a porch or something in the past, its very odd...but again workable for the price.

#2 is winning so far and is in Lutts (about 1/2 hour from shopping in savannah tn and about 1 hour from shopping in florence AL)
house is stuck in the 70's (even though it was built in the 80's lol.) but definatly nice, its got no drywall, instead the whole place is done in the thin panneling stuff...bad cause welll its panneling (and it looks like someone been punching holes in some spots lol) good because it would be incredibly easy to pull out and replace with either new NICER panneling or drywall...
its got 1 fll bath thats deifnatly workable, laundry is in there too and a tiny 1/2 bath off one of the bedrooms, toilets probbaly will need replacing theres some cracks in the tanks, and they look yicky...
2.37 acres of mostly cleared level to sloping lot and some woodland at the back.
its cheaper but its a hud home so not as much wiggle room on the price.

friday we decided to be tourists, whent to the zoo in the morning then to 3rd and lindsleys in nashville for dinner and a show, caught the abba tribute band knowing me knowing you and they were AWESOME and the food delicious.

saturday more touristy stuff, whent to the nashville farmers market, definatly a good place to buy started veggies, plants and herbs...the fleamarket side wasnt anythign impressive though.
then we took a drive to the opryland hotel, STUNNING, couldnt spend more than a couple of hours there unless your planning on eating and such, but otherwise, VERY pretty...
had a quiet night in.

today was crazy day...we decided to drive the 2 1/2 hours back down to the lutts house and get more pictures from the outside and of the land...i realy like it...and the drive is pretty...but 2 1/2 hours is rough...my biggest concern is while it would be great for me, id probably have very few places to take guests (unless florence has places to visit) we then drove into savannah which would be the closest major shopping (walmart and such) which then made it a 3 and a bit hour drive back to nashville...LONG day.
tonights a quiet night in too...after all that driving today, im tired.

tomorrow were meeting another realtor whos going to show us some properties to the north/north-east of nashville, about 45mins away from nashville itself...probably a little better in terms of acess to activity for visitors, but i know at least 1 of the properties were seeing has less land than the lutts house.
no restrictions though so that works.

then tuesday will be a quiet day, packing, and seeing last minute things, were going to walk broadway and catch a show/meal that night as a "last huzza" before flights home on wednesday.

i promise there will be pictures once i get home and have full interwebs back :p
btu it is absolutly beuatiful out here!

Good luck! Have an inspector check first on the places before you buy. Especially with a sagging floor. It could save you lots of headaches and money later.
Yicky toilet tanks could mean lots of minerals in the water. Then you would need a filter or your laundry would get discolored after a while.

i think the yicky toilets are from the house being winterized, the one in the 1/2 bath looks like someones either used it since being winterized *eww* (though there was no odor in the house) or just shoved tissue or a paper towel in there.

it is a well and the area does have alot of minerals in the water...the water along with the septic would have to be properly checked before ANY purchase, and i will be getting an inspection on any property i want to buy.
house #2 is however FHA insured...so thats usually a good sign...right?...lol

going to see some more today so we'll se, i may fall inlove with something else lol.

otherwise, weather has been lovely up untill today and today there saying storms and rain...definatly cloudy out there.

dont worry, ill be carefull :)

well the good news...
i know which house im putting an offer in for...

house #2, the one in lutts, its got the land i need, a huge 3 car shop/garage (one day will be a barn), its got the sqftage i want, 2 beds 1 1/2 baths and it looks like (and assuming the inspector finds the same) that it just needs a good coat of paint and some new flooring...

so i emailed the agent and my mortgage guy and now its a waiting game to see what he needs to get me that preaproval letter to submit with the offer...

it is a HUD home, its FHA insured and no repair excrow (im assuming these are all typically good signs) and has ALOT of potential, ill have a few neighbors and there looks to be some mcmansion development in the area (why i dont know though its in the middle of nowhere lol) but it looks like the mcmansion lots are very large and there leaving most of the rural beauty lots of trees ect alone...so im not too worried about that.

so now its just a case of waiting and hoping and getting all the info together that everyone needs to buy myself a home *dances*

in other news...our good weather luck has run out...
today is rainy, potential for big storms and tomorrow is looking no better :(
im hoping its not going to be bad enough to be a big problem for our flights tomorrow. but im expecting delays...so if yall could keep those fingers crossed that flights are not too bad tomorrow and that they dont get canceled id be highly apreciative.

now, just got to figure out what were doing today in a very wet nashville area. will probable try and find a local walmart to pick up something to keep us occupied if flights are delayed tomorrow...
tonight were supposed to be going to broadway to the bars to catch our last show...but that will depend greatly on how the weather co-operates.

Good luck on the home. When you get a home inspector, I would suggest not using one the realtor suggests. They want to help the realtor get the sale. Septic problems can get expensive. I would be very careful and make sure you get a very good home inspector.
