oh it was delicious and the fish just pulled right form the bone so easily...one of the reasons im picky wiht fish is i hate the little tiny bones but catfish doesnt have those itsy bitsy tiny evil bones, just a good old spine thats easy to pull :D

just finnishing up lunch and then we'll be heading out for a trail ride this afternoon...which is a good thing because i got home today from the fleamarket this morning and hazel my beautiful tri doe who delivered 9 kits in the middle of the t-storm, was dead...she has refused food since she gave birth, and yesterday she stopped drinking, i palpated this morning but didnt fel anythign but everything about her was very "tense" every muscle in her body was hard, and her skin felt too small for her body, i dont knwo if she retained a kit, got soaked in the rain giving birth or got an infection (she had milk this morning, no signs of mastitis)...
i definatly think her death is related to giving birth...:(

so a good ride would be nice to just take my mind off that i think.

Well that just sucks. :( I hope you have a good ride. Poor bunny.

We have a sick little guy as well. My Dutch breeder is skin and bones right now, and we can't figure out why. He's eating and drinking just fine. He is elderly though. That must also be why we haven't had any luck breeding him the last 6 months. It doesn't take. we need a new buck for the meaty girls, but he was the very first pet bun here, and belonged to DD initially, so he will retire here.

sounds like hes had a good life. if you want another rex as a breeder for your meat program ill do you the last of rowans boys for $10 (hes a sable point and could be bred back to rowan with no problems) but hes got another 4 months before breeding age.
not going to do much in terms of advertising on them this week because mum and dad are here so no rush to decide. but planning on heading to crump with them next weekend.

the ride was lovely, dad REALY enjoyed it and afterwards we grabbed a drink in the little resturaunt and chatted...he REALY wants to move down here and it looks like now its just a case of figuring the financing...he said hes NEVER felt as reaxed as he has this past week and he doesnt want to go home...
said even when they whent to florida for the 2 weeks while it was Nice, he just didnt feel relaxed or refreshed...but after just a week out here hes in love and feels like he belongs...relaxed, peacefull.

tomorrow ive got to go to the feed store and get my feed for the bunnies and quackers...need shavings too...
im ok on groceries so not going to worry about that.
Dad wants to get the ceiling fans sorted and the vent fan in the bathroom done tomorrow and mabe work on moving the electric for the stove on tuesday morning, said the job will be a little arkward (crawling under the house) but shouldnt take long overall...i think hes hoping to get the floor done before he leaves and because of that wants to get everything sorted quick.
thursday were hoping to get one last look at the house they are realy interested in (a better look of the land itself) and see a couple of cheaper properties on a little less land to see what else is possible for maybe a little less money. they are planning on leaving late thursday night/early friday morning.

Pinkie, when I read about that area, I so want to go down and look at it. I was watching something not too long ago on TV about Tennessee, and I could definitely see me living in that kind of place.

i think youd like it deb, not much to do in terms of "entertainment" for most used to clubs and such...but in terms of pace and general feel, its lovely.

we got a huge storm cell come through this section of the state...had tornado warnings, watches and severe thunderstorm/flood warnings, i think a few small cells did form and touched down south of us, but we only got skirted by the big cell and by the time it merged with one comming south the storm had already lost alot of power...keeping an eye on warnings and such as its still flashing and crashing out there as the edge of a big cell is skirting heading southeast...
theres also a HUGE batch of rain west of Memphis thats going to drown us and has a good line of smaller t-storms on its front, it is moving fairly fast though.
The animals are all snoozing calmly...and if there not worried...im not. poor tempi however didnt come home before the storm came in so i hoe she found a dry spot to take refuge lol. one of these days shes going to learn! i think she huddles up in the old barn back in the woods when this kind of weather comes through...
but as a warning, obviously WBF might not be online tonight.

as another note, dont know if its the ride or what but im EXHAUSTED...and bed is calling! (and ill be honest, the futon is NOT my bed lol, but only another 5 nights on the futon lol...i do miss my bed! shes a good bed)

ive figured out that my next "farm" project is to expand the side fence and get the back field fenced so the goats have more room (and to mow it for me) ive decided the front 1/4 of the property where the shingle dump is is too much to take on right now so im going to start expanding backwards into the back woods and get that area sorted first and slowly work around to that front section.
the plan for the front section will eventually be pull all salvagable/cash worthy metal, have a digger come in and dig the biggest hole ever and just bucket load/dozer/push everything in and bury it...i may invest in a wethered lamb to put in with the goats to mow what they wont and then butcher in the fall for some freezer mutton (good winter stew meat and dog food and a cheap lawnmower lol)

Hope you made it throught the storms safely. :hugs

As I posted at WBF's journal, that last one grew huge when it left us in AR but it was one of the best ones we've had in a long time! :D We're up on a hill and I just love it when a good storm hits. I know, I know...I ain't right! :gig

Glad the visit is going well with your folks and sorry about the bun! :hugs

we made it through fine, couple of little end branches down, quite honestly i got in bed and dont remember much after the first 2-3 mins of lights flashing outside lol. i was so tired once my head hit that pillow i wasout cold lol.
personally i LOVE thunderstorms, the electricity in the air, the smell of the charge and that fresh ionized smell just after. (though i do have to be carefull as im sensitive to ozone (cant use those ionizer air purifiers ect as they make me ill)
my biggest worry quite honestly when we get storms through is my fish tank...doesnt that sound sily?! but im always worried the powers going to cut out and my fishtanks going to go stale or get cold and all my fish will die...
i keept track of the tornado watches/warnings but try not to obsess, i figure its not like i can turn the wind off so i just make sure ive got things secured as possible and then just wait it out...the bathroom is my "storm shelter" right now as its the only room in the house with no windows but for the most part i dont think about it too much. theres "prepping" and theres "obsessing"

thanks on the bunny hugs...
the vet thinks toxemia (uterine infection) plus exhaustion from having such a huge litter :(

todays plan is head out for feed, shavings ect...
Got to call the co-op to see if they have shavings, id much rather not go all the way up to tractor supply if i dont have to...
Dad wants to go order the floor today and get the fans done. think hell do the fans first while me and mum go "shopping" and then we'll go up to the flooring place this afternoon to get that shorted and then try and get the wiring for the cooker done this afternon if its dry enough under the house (dirt crawlspace)

well i now have a brand new MUCH bigger ceiling fan in the livingroom it makes a huge difference in airflow. the ceiling fan from the livingroom is now in my bedroom (which didnt have a fan) and the light from the bedroomis now in the kitchen (which origionally had a small brass one that didnt give out much light at all.
my bathroom also has a vent fan now that is actually vented to the outside :D no more foggy bathroom when i take a shower YAY!
and they suprised me with the floor!

i had to go to the docs today for my shot/checkup/blood test (b12 is STILL way low despite having shots every 3 monhts, looks like im going to have to start doing at home :/ )
they dropped me off as dad needed to hit the little local sears store need the docs office then whent off...i knew they were going to the flooring place to price up the floor as we were going to go 50/50...well when they icked me up theres a roll of black and white check lino in the car...its good stuff and they got a good deal on it and it should look very nice in the kitchen...i origionally wanted a slate color but when we loooked at some at lowes i decided id rather go black and white or off white or somehting light due to how small and dark the room can be...
ill go white on the backsplash with a black trim when i get round to it and bring in some color in the backsplash too.

So tonights job is prep the kitchen, the cooker is going out on the back deck, dads pulling up the threshold strips now and we'll empty and move the fridge in a little while and rip up the carpet ready for tomorrow...
then in the morning its climb under the house/re arrange the wiring time which dad asures me shoudlnt take long) and then the floor should go down quickly.
im REALY excited.
