well...now i think its the energizer itself.
unhooked everything this morning, pulled the "hot" wire back out of the pipe and disconected all but the first ground less than 12" from the box.

took my fence tester to the hot terminal and ground, blinking light
attatched a peice of 6" long of wire to the hot, binking light on the fence tester but not as bright when directly attatched to the terminal
took that off and clipper a peice of insulated wire on the hot, blinking light on the fence tester at terminal end but dim...binking light on other end of that wire, JUST Barely.

took it off and attatched that 6" peice of wire to the hot terminal... fence tester blinked, gritted my teeth and touched 6" peice of wire and not even a tingle...im sat AT THE BOX, the peice of wire is directly connected to the terminal is only 6" long and the ground is literally 6" from my foot...and not even a twinge...
without having a voltmeter i cant tell what the output on the box is...was going to pick one up today but the only one i could find had a 600v max (and everything im reading says you need one specifically for the E-fence as the voltage is too high for a regular one...)

its the only thing i can think of right now that would be causing this issue...
the wire is good, ive got a grounding rod less than 12" from the box right now, its putting out a pulse, but im NOT feeling it...

so im going to go up to TSC, pick up a 10 mile charger (which should do 4 strand around my entire property AND cross fencing ect with no issues (i need a 5 mile charger minimum so a 10 mile should be fine) will hook that up and see if that fixes the issue...if it does, tada, problem was the box, if it doesnt then im out of thoughts.
Looks like Dozer gets to go for some socilization today.

well...

it is indeed a charger issue!
new 10 mile charger is working no problems, fence is "hot"
girls got a few good zaps, but realized they could squeeze under fast enough to miss a zap on the nose, so they got locked up and i spent the rest of the afternoon adding line #4

so now ive got a line at 7", a line at 16", a line at 24" and a line at 36"
the bottom 3 lines wil be most likely to be "used" with the top line only realy comming into use to keep anything from trying to jump/climb in.

after putting the bottom line in i had to go back around the entire perimeter with the weed wacker due to the lower line.
but....we SHOULD have a working, functioning system now...
hopefully the goats will get the hang of this quickly...

unfortunatly i didnt get ANY of my cleaning done today.
ok i lied, i did get the keets cleaned out, and will take out my 1 bag of trash in a little while, but otherwise no actual cleaning...so i guess thats going to be tomorrows job

budget for the month is blown...
so lets hope i dont get any "suprises" for the rest of the month.

The energizer i borrowed is definatly dead.
I picked up a small fence voltmeter so i wouldnt have these issues in the future, and the charger i was using was BARELY blinking 600volts at the terminals with NOTHIGN attatched...
it SHOULD be reading 7000volts...

new charger is reading 7000v, even on the fence! WOOT!

so im tired...im SORE (my hands are killing me lol) and im itchy from skeeter bites, (tick check pulled 10 off me tonight lol) but had a nice hot shower, a yummy dinner and now im spoiling myself with a bowl of icecream...im pretty sure i earnt this one lol.

thanks guys, it felt kinda good to know that in the end it wasnt my lack of experience that had the system not working LOL!

right now im sat out on the back deck, in my pjs, eating my breakfast watching the goats pull virginia creeper off one of the big ole pines :D
they are staying close to the fenceline right now, security im guessing, but there happily munching on various stuff, lots of tall broad leafweeds and grasses. i figure itll take them a while to feel comfortable in their new feeding grounds so im kind of expecting them to stay close to the perimeter for a while.
according to findyourlotsize.com the new pen is about 1/3rd of an acre...wonder how long it will take 2 goats to clear that lol.

the rabbit hutches got cleaned out this morning already too...

so now, just spending a little tme wathcing the girls, want to make sure they are content and not interested in trying the fence again and then...well todays plan is to clean because i didnt get it done yesterday.
back bedroom is first, then going to move the kittens into there, they are gettong to that age where theyre trying to explore now (and ill be starting them on some wet food later today, THAT will be fun...lol.
Jack jack and the linnies need cleaning, ive got a bunch of dishes that need doing and my kitchen floor is discusting....

assuming i get all that doen n a timely manner its then time to clean off the patio and back deck which currently displays the remnants of the crazy fencing project lol.
ive got my eyes on a patio set at freds discount, sofa and 2 chairs and a coffee table kind of deal...it price reduced right now and im hoping another month and theyll be lowering it further to clear out ready for fall stuff...
and ive got my eyes peeled for a super cheap little bistro set for my back deck too...right now ive got a folding camp chairs and while they work for the likes of playing on my computer, id realy like to be able to come out and paint which i need a table for lol.
but yeah need to get the outside cleaned up now...

this weekend i need totake apart the 6 bank rabbit hutch and see what i need to turn that wood into a guinea house as absolute minimal cost.

but yeah...so far so good, poppy took a zap to the nose a second ago when she tried to push against the fence...they definalty seem to be grasping the "yelow dohickies mean that thing bites" concept lol.

so off i go to finnish up my checing online stuffs and craigslist scouring...and then its time to clean...lol.

well its taken me since lunch time but the house is finally "clean", still need to sort some stuff out to make it completly "tidy" and put the dishes away and take out the trash, but otherwise, job well done.

still need to tdy outside stuff, but im tired...this past few days aparently kicked my tuckus lol, so i think that can wait for a little while at least, might do some outside in a little while, as ive got to take a load of laundry out, and right now the animal feed is in the way, i had to put it in there so the goats couldnt get to it when they were in the backyard while i did their fence lol.

Tomorrow im hoping to spend the day taking apart the 6 bank of hutches so i know what i need to pick up for the guinea coop.
and then, if im lucky, ill spend saturday/sunday building the guinea coop and they can be out of the house by monday *fingers crossed*

eta: yay on 3-4 weeks, going to take a "before" picture soon, figure ill take a picture form the same spot every 2 weeks and see how it changes :D itll be fun!
