oh absolutly agree, meat is EXPENSIVE even when you raise it yourself....
and while its not like any of you need to watch our weight, 3-4 porkchops isnt good for ya lol
(and even fat me couldnt have handled thatmuch meat in a sitting lol)

sounds seriously delcious, but honestly, the corn would have been my favorite part i LOVE corn!

and yeah im thinking a cage here and there may end up being a better choice money wise, it would certinaly be easier to swallow bit by bit...but imwondering if buying the supplies to make them would work out overall cheaper so thats what im looking into...
I can definatly re-use the wood ive got to make frames if i can get wire cheap enough...

no rush yet, the hutches are still deifnalty usable...but i deifnatly dont think theyll last long term...should have used pressre treated and hardwood as opposed to ply but i knew they wouldnt last over years of use anyway.

as a side note...i blame you...but im now looking at baby piggy pictures LOL!

When my hubby built my bunny cage, he made the sides out of chicken wire, put hardware cloth on the bottom and built a "house" on the one end.

 It's not MY fault you're looking at piglet pics :p

I think you should look around at the flea market and places. This guy had a nice wire cage at the market today for $15, and I KNOW it cost more than that to make it! You could run up on some nice deals at yard sales too. The two very large show type cages I have buns in, I got for $10 each last year at a yard sale. That was a STEAL considering just the door is probably $10 worth of metal in the thing! Shop around, you may be suprised at what people just want out of their way :hu It'd be slow collecting as many as you need, but money wise, I think it'd be well worth the wait.

yup i agree, the cheapest i can BUY the 30x36's im looking at is $37...
after doing the math, its going to cost about the same to MAKE them...

theres a guy up at first mondays who builds cages and was asking $20 a peice on his 30x24's so i might see how much his would run
im keeping an eye on craigslist but quite suprised at 1: how few cages there are on there and 2: how much people seem to think they are worth, there was a guy selling a 30x30 (you can get form tsc for 29.99, the thing had obviously had something heavy ontop as the top had started to cave in, thedoor was all bent and the floor and sides were badly rusted enough that there were spots where the wire had been "eaten" (holes) and he wanted $30 for it...*blink blink* realy?!
crazy people.

will efinatly look around at crump too.

got an email from girl who took bunny "my dog and the rabbit dont get along" (shes got a chihuahua) shes had him less than 24 hours told her ill take him back (wont pay for him though) she can give him to a buddy/resell him...but my suggestion would be to give them at least 2 weeks of interaction through the baby gate ect before making any desicions about whether they wil get used to eachother...

todays plan...wel there realy isnt one...meeting the cream tabby kittens new "parents" this evening (hes not going home for another 2 1/2 weeks but they want to meet him (theyve placed a deposit) so thats on the books for later...
i want to get the bunny cages cleaned as best possible
and i need to get down to the libruary and then the post office.
next month...im buying a cheap little printer.

anywho. of to go check all the other interwebs stuff that i do before i realy get the day started.

well looks like part of my day involvs going picking bunny up...
aparently her small dog is trying to eat him, and she doesnt want him getting hurt, told her i cant buy him back, and she said she doesnt car as long as hes safe...

So that gives me back up to 2 bunnies to find homes for again, but hey, least she contacted me back

----

ETA, scratch that...
her frined decided she wanted him so tada, no need to go pick up bunny and just leaves me with 1 left who MIGHT have a home lined up if the buyer agrees to the delivery fee, we'll see.

got rubies pen all set up, shes due to pp on wednesday, right now her temps are tracking 99.8 (normal is 101 for a dog, with an expected 2 degree drop 12-24 hours prior to labor...but ruby sometimes runs "cold" so im not going to jump untill i see upper 98's lower 99's...still didnt sleep well last night lol and i know i wont now untill the babies are in the world safe and sound.

managed to get one form sorted out so its one less i have to print, need to run across to the post office in about 1/2 an hour to send some mail out...but first i think its lunch time...im thinking grilled cheese :D

---
ETA again.
looks like the other one has a home lined, up...not going to count my chickens but lady wants him, is ok with the extra cost of delivery...cant take him untill the 1st though (pay day) but assuming all goes well...looks like floppy bunny hs a home.

just need to line up homes for the 2 red tabby kittens (and POSSIBLY Dusty)...

My psychic senses are telling me she wants to pay you the $50 for bringing him to North Jackson just because she has money to wipe her butt with and she gets giggles from paying too much for things because it makes her feel superior so she doesn't feel guilty for looking down her big honkin schnoz at the "little bunny selling folk" around these parts.

or

Maybe she no speaky angleesh bery well :hu

Dusty is currenlty playing "how to loose a paw in 30 seconds" (she keeps trying to bat at jack jack through the cage bars and this far has been fast enough to remove it before he gets a hold...)

this is her for size referenace, she weighs LESS than the 4 week olds and overall size wise is he same height/lenght...
005-3.jpg

but you can see from her eyes alone
010.jpg

shes at least 6 weeks old.

you can see her white swirlies pretty good in that picture too...shes not quite a dilute tortie because she does have black...but shes not quite full extension either because shes more cream then orange...very odd colors...
