We used to have a membership to the Philly zoo. The kids loved it. But, we got to where we just couldn't afford it.

oh i understand that...
im lucky i actually have 1 open end comp from the zoo director i picked up when working at the zoo in CT
if it wasnt for the issues i have making it pretty unlikely id ever be able to fuction at needed capacity in a zoo situation (seizures make it rather...dangerous...to work with large mammals that can eat and or squish people to death lol and social anxiety makes the educational program...well uneducational lol) i would be working at the memphis zoo, had a job offer when i was working up in CT, i was stupid realy because i passed it up for the CT zoo job 100% because of not wanting to give up on my relationsip at the time (which about 2 years later...fell apart)
when i had my acident that agrivated the issues she told me to drop her an email when i was ever in the area and i could go to the zoo free :D

i got an email back, right now theres funds, they want to give willow at least 1 more week to dry up and they should be able to book them both in on the same day which means probably sometime on or after August 6th ill be spending the day at the zoo and comming home with 2 "fixed" critters! SOOO excite about this, even though id have the cost of gas itll stil work out about the same cost as the Snip program would and assuming i get this sorted NOW get them booked in ect, im guarentted a spot as oppposed to waiting till the end og august applying seding in my money and potentially getting turned down becuase they ran out of funds before my aplication got aproved ect...

ive got high hopes...especially for dozer, im realy hoping this will help calm him down and combine it with training to get some real focus, because ill be honest, with the behaviours hes been displaying this past couple of weeks (hell be 10 months old on Aug 1st) if his dominance beahviours continue to grow ill have to rehome him to a small pet and kid free home. hes just too unrooly right now with the cats and cresties and im REALY REALY hoping its mostly hormones comming in... especially since these behaviours started about 2 weks ago...which is also when i noticed hes STARTING to lift his leg, right now its more of a tentitive foot off the floor, but that means hormones are comming and itll only get stronger.

OOOO and i sold the other baby buny!
no baby bunies in my hutches right now, no plans for baby bunnies untill september...YAY!
(i spent the money pretty much imediatly on kitty litter and a gallon of milk but YAY for bunny sale lol.
and the lady was REALY nice to and wants me to show her how to process bunies this winter when i have a meat litter ready! so were going to keep intouch :)

Good for you on all counts!

And, I hear ya on the leg lifting. We've had one male dog, and had him fixed at around 6 months old or so. (Don't recall now-it was about 25 years ago!) Did it B4 he started to lift his leg, and he never did.

yeah im hoping to "nip" this one before he gets in the habit, jaspers a leg lifter (and a marker) and has to wear a belly band or he will pee in the house, (i just cant break him of the habit...) but least hes small enough to wear a belly band with no issues...lol...
not sure i could keep that up wiht the big ole dozey lol

slept MUCH better last night, only got up 5-6 times to check on the pups and they are going fine. nice round bellies, good strong lungs lol.
i cant wait for eyeballs :D

todays plan is minimal...ill probably go do some cleaning out of the veggie beds and prep for the fall veggies (just for the bunnies for the most part lol)
got the fence between the main yard and the rabbit/duck area that i want to move, going to corner off the duck area so they have a smaller dog free zone and acess to the rest of the yard but making it easier for me
not having to manouver round the little gap i left myself. shouldnt be much of a real big job/issue... and theres only 2 short t-posts to move and the stretch of fence is only about 20ft worth.
eventually theyll have acess to the orchard section of the back pasture to, but that wont be untill i get a fence up to seperate the orchard area from the current goat field. so probbaly in the fall, untill then they have the back yard. still justthe fece will be moved to make aces for me easier (and better limit the dogs acess to eating ducky poop while im trying to get thigns done out there LOL.

as i start to replace the hutches this fall too im planning on amking the rabbitry area a litle more...cozy...
going to put in a gate from the front yard (so i dont have to bring buyers all the way around) and put a little table and chairs back there to so that when people do come to pick up/out bunnies they can sit and be comfortable for a little while while were playing "Q&A"

im going to move my 2 bigger veggie beds too, not yet sure if they will go into the rabbit area or be moved completly...but itll deifnalty open up the back yard just a little bit more

got to start planing my fall projects...making lists and such...lots of plans for 2013 :D

Well im going to be in Memphis on Tuesday August 7th!
Dozer and Willow are both booked or spay/neuter.
I aked her if we can fit dusty in too that day.

I placed dusty up for adoption, told people if she didnt have a home by friday shes staying and well...shes still here lol. so if they can fit her in on the same day as the other 2 were all set and all i have to worry about later is getting ruby and jasper done...Ruby will have to be done at a normal vet as i want to get her teeth cleaned too...and by then mabe Snip will have Funds again for Jasper too...or i can recontact these memphis folks and get him in there, theres not as much of a rush for him as hes as attitudy as hes going to get LOL!

now im just hoping i can get the 2 little red kitties into good homes and we'll be all set on that front.

WHEW...

i cant tell you how much this has lifted some weight off my shoulders, doing the math i was realy worrying about the budget trying to get both illow and dozer done asap..., this just makes things ALOT asier... wil cost me about $40 in gas there and back and $40 to get willow dozer AND kitten spay/neutered (if we can get kitten in) and ill be spending the day at the zoo and packing my lunch and snacks so there shouldnt be any additional costs associated with the day...

*happy dance*

thanks :) me too...

on a simila note, was going over my bucket list last night...just thinking on it...
is it sad that MOST of the things on my bucket list involve animal interaction or zoo trips of some kind?!

i want to go swimming with whale sharks...
i want to scuba around the barrier reef
disneys nimal kingson
the sandiego zoo
singapore zoo
taronga zoo
Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo
ride an elephant
safari in africa

lol...

anywho.

bit of a rant.
yesterday the neighbors "kid" (hes my age) comes over to ask if i can give him and his dad a ride to hsi sisters place...noproblem theyll giv eme gas...
tell him give me abou 15 mins, eed to let the dogs go pee and get changed first but ill beep the horn...
was there dead on 15 mins later, beeped...waited...beeped...waited...waited 10 mns, got out of the car knocked on the door and waited...NOTHIGN...
reveresed down the driveway figuted mabe bathroom or something...did some scelaning out fo the car and 30 mins later repeated the process...i waited another 10 mins offering a combination of Beep and knocking on the door and still nothign.
REALY frustrating because the last time i knwocked on the door the sun had moved in such a positon that i could JUST make the son out on the couch (dnt know if he was alseep or if he was wathicng tv...
so i left.

this morning 6:15 am theres a fast omg help kind of kncking on the door...and it kept going..and going...i didnt know what time it was, i was half asleep, all i knew wa whoever was at the door needed something urgently...couldnt find my pj's so i grab the blanket off the end of the bed wrap it wrong me and rush groggily to the door....
GUESS WHO!
6:15 on a saturday morning "i was wondering if mabe a bit later you could take me to the scrap yard...ill giv you gas money..."
im not sure what saved his life this morning, the fact that i was too tried to think "hey hold on while i go get my rifel" or the fact that i was holding the blanket tightly around me with my "throwing" arm...cause i seriously wanted to smash him in the face
(i didnt sleep well last night because the puppies were unusuallly squeeky and i was worried, there all fine, just me being a worry but still)

so i told him "i might eb able to later, ive got some stuff i need to get done today" and hes not listening or cant hear me or something cause hes like "what?" "huh"?!
i told him "mabe later, ill drive up and beep a few times..." and closed the door before he could manage to try and keep me up anymore...

by this time of course i was now commng around and falling back to sleep was not happening so after laying in bed for about 30 mins i got up...

once everyone was fed i drove up to the house...beeped...and guess what?! NOTHING...knocked on the door...still nothing...
yeah $10 in gas money SOOOO not worth this bull.
I dont mind giving them a ride once ina while as longas they pay for gas, but this is ridiculous now.

the whole situation stated because thy had blown the tire on a pot hole...
then they blew out a nother tire because as theyd figured it the strut fell or twisted or somehting and was rubbing...so he needed anew this that and the other...
got those fixed then it was a case of "cant find a used tie locally and dont ant to put a new one on untill i know ifixed the rubbing issue (ok makes sense ties are expensive...)
but this morning whn i whent, i took a quick look at the car, theres a tire on it...looks pretty new...but the car is still up on MY jack which they borrowed about a month ago...

So i the car has a tire...why am i still having to play taxi? how about yo help your dad fix "your" car so you dont have to be bothering me all the damned time!? and so i cna have my jack back because ight now if anything happens when im out and baout...i have no jack to lift my car.

i ont ant to just start saying "NO" but this is getting stuid...i dont mind taking his dad, hes dad is a nice guy...not all too...well...i think theres crayons missing from the box...BUT yeah...
the son...quite frankly...skeeves me out...
hes never tried anythign, neve even hinted at trying anything (and i could take him out with my pinky finger...hes skinny and not even in that "scrapper" type way...) but he still gives me the creeps major big time. Dozer doesnt like him much either...dozer loves EVERYONE...he'll drool random strangers to death...but this kid, hell go over give him a sniff and walk away...
im pretty certain from how he acts hes either high or drunk LITERALLY 24/7...

so THAT was how i started my day...Fun huh?!

not sure what the rest of the day is goign to do for me...
i was going to do some stuff in the garden but then by the time id finnished futing around and took a walk over to the post office the humidity has already skyrocketed...im pretty certain there will be NOTHIGN going on outdoors today its only 83 right now...should be PERFEcTLY comfortable to be working outside..but the 75% humidity says "oh HELL no"

I do realy need to start making progress with the gourds so i MIGHT go out and scrub some more down today and mabe put the holes in the 3 ive already scrubbed...
august is going to be the paint them job i think, hoping to have enough done and ready for sale for september so i can set up at the market and mabe make a little cash for fall projects and christmas shopping...

I realy need a table outdoors so i can sit outside and paint and stuff :)

anywho...
ive got hiccups and a headache...
so im going to go finish up, have a drink and make take a tylanol, i may even end up taking a nap, because right now...im lagging.

lol i think you might need a nekkid puppy lol.
i cant explain how...special...this breed is lol.

and i cant wait to see how they grow over the next few weeks, the biggest hairless boy is going to look relay "punk rocker" i think, hes a true hairless so hes probably just going to have a little bit on his tail and a mohawk...
the little hairles boy is going to be someones spoilt rotten lap dog, hes going to be itsy bitsy (ill be suprised if he hits 6lbs) and is going to be quite the looker if his coat comes in like i expect, hes going to have a nice mane and a foofy tail :D
and the 2 puffy girls, i do like the cocolate, there going to be FLASHY!

right now though there all small and squeeky and look nothing like puppies...its when those eyes start to open...THATS when i turn into a big ball of goey puppy mommy mush! lol
