theres a small faire about 45 mins from the house every year that im hoping to get involved in that runs 1 weekend each october...

theres also the tn rennaisance festival that runs in early may that id possibly get involved with (though that ones a 2 1/2 hour drive from the house)

but as long as i get one weekend a year where i can run round in garb and be "myself" ill be happy :D

i didnt go to faire at all last year, so it wont be the end of the world if theres no events on the doorstep...
as long as i can go at least once a year ill be happy :D

woot...

today i took our first small harvets form the veggie patch, our romaine, bib and mixed "baby greens" (whihc is mostly arugula) have taken off real well, everything else is growing well too, but the lettuces seem to have loved the rain weve had lately lol.

so i clipped a couple handfulls of the outerleaves off some romaine and bib lettuce and harvested a good handfull of arrugula, as well as 3 of my "green" white onions i took the largest that were crowding some of thier smaller buddies.

i was a little worried the romaine was going to be bitter, i dont like romaine from the store as it always has a slight bitterness but i did read that as long as you dont let it get "old" its actually not bitter at all, so i tried it...
and i must say

Yummy!
dad, who usually only eats salad because he has to realy enjoyed his and mum hers...the only thing that would have made it even better would be if the carrots, beets and tomatoes were all ready too lol.

but yeah im realy happy the romaine was nice and sweet as was the bib, so at least now i know i actually can just keep harvesting from a few heads throughout the season without pulling the entire plant up and get nice sweet leaves throughout the season :D

oh and im seeing what looks like carrot sprouts, not alot of them, but more than a couple of weeks ago...never thought carrots would take so long to pop their heads out!

ugh, hud stuff is ridiculous...
my agent called the office holding the house...since we havent heard anythign and they recived my contract on thursday...

turns out there was a smudge and they couldnt accept the contract in its current state (because they couldnt tell me this BEFORE the weekend?!)
BUT...

get this...

"you can email the client the contract again, have her sign it and email it back to you and you can send it back to us...

*blink blink*
my agents responce...
"you mean we could have done this all via email and fax form the beginning?!"

aparently yes and no, no because they needed ot have an official written signature form me, but now they have it on the origional contract i sent in via overnight, any changes ect can be done via fax and email...

*hts head on desk*

so my agent is going to email me the contract, i get to print it and fax it back over to her (because my scanner doesnt work and shell scan it in at her office and email it back to them...)

this wont effect the estimated closing date of July 1st...
and my inspection period goes form the time the hud agent signs to contract, so im not running out of time for that which was a worry...(cause they only give you 10 days to get everythgn turned on and checked to your satisfaction)

i swear...

this whole process is probby alot easier for poeple who have done it a few times, but as a first time buyer who THOUGHT i knew how this all works, but hud has thrown all this for a real loop de loop...

and now because its FHA not conventional (i did tell my agent i was going fha since the property is insured) now she needs to double check with my mortgage guy just to make sure shes filling out her part of the conract correctly so we dont have any more hold ups on this...

*resists the urge to pull out hair*

we WILL get through this, we WILL get through this...LOL

im realy trying not to stress about it because im in ct and this is all going on in tn, so as long as i provide the info they need theres very little extra i can do.

i will say, my agents hearnt her commission on this one...and its not exactly a large commission, i feel like i should tip her or something at the end of this...either way as soon as things get settled and everything closed im planning on sending her a nice lifflt gift basket...sure i know she gets paid for this and this is her job, but shes REALY working for this one and her commission is only about $1000 on this sale.

ill definatly be looking into it lol, she deserves something after all this as a little thank you.

she heard back today, they got the forms, everything "LOOKS" good, they just needed a new copy of the pre-approval letter (so she sent that to them) hipefully theyll have their act together by monday and utilities can go on.

in other news, my lovely sunburn from sunday...2nd degree burns on the back according to my dad...
it was fine sunday mondey, just hot and tingly but tuesday was agony, by yesterday though it was all fine again but i noticed it felt very dry...then scabby...

yup, dad used to be an RN...
2nd degree burns, so im going to call the doc in the morning and see if he thiks its worht a referal to a dermatologist to just have it checked, or if he wants to take a look at it, just to make sure it is healing ok...

the good news is in terms of pain its only tender under the scabs and its a little itchy, which usually means its healing...

ive NeveR had a sunburn this bad and i am the queen of sunburns...
it would be one thing if id managed to get this burn laying on a beach, or even if it was sunny out, but it wasnt, it was cold and overcast...its my own fault, i know what the sun does to me and i SHOULD have reapplied sunscreen every hour...but nooooo, im an idiot.
and worse, again ive been doing faire for years, and my big faire runs in July-August, and ive forgotten sunscreen many a time...red for a few days then back to white again...but the one cloudy day at the beginning of the season i dont reapply becuase it was cold and derary...and i manage to get myself quite the doozy of a burn.
*doh*

im thinking of picking up acan of the areosol sunscreen, mabe that would be easier for garb days, liquid sunscreen means finding someone to put the goop on, whereas a spray can means no goop and might be easier to get someone to do it for me. i dont like areosols usually but might be easier for faire days.

specaking of faire days, Milfords captain kidd day is comming up on july 12th i belive, its a fun day where local charities put on a kids day on the gree, captain kid along with some of his pirates come in via boat into the dock with their treasure and the day is generally one of music, belly dancers and wandering folks like myself in garb keepign the kinders semi entertained.

my captain and at least one other memeber of our crew (his wife and one of my BEST friends) are planning on being in attendance, so if i can swing the gas funds ill probably get involved this year (ddnt make it last year) a few other aquaintences will be there too, and we dont do anything special.
its a half day event (noon to 5) and only 45 mins away from home...SOOOO if i can figure out how to make a bird diaper by then i think im going to take Jack Jack my macaw...

how awesome will that be...lots of people bring their dogs, but im pretty sure ill be the only pirate there with a parrot! bonus points if jack jack decides to be talkative LOL.
(he will be on leash which he doesnt mind...and he LOVES going for walks and being talked to...of course itll be a hands off for the kids kind of day, i dont want any figers as souveneers lol) but i think itll be fun and a good test run for future events.
and good for him to meet new people who will tell him how handsome he is lol...he does like to hear how beautiful he is...(he puts his head down and spreads his wings when you tell him hes handsome as if to say "oh yes i am, look how pretty my wings are!" hes a real ham, expesiclaly for a 10month old...hes still considered a baby untill about a year and still a toddler till a year and a half severes arnt realy teenagers untill 3 yrs old.

so yeah i think that could be a fun day, and he then becomes a good exuse if i want to leave early or if folks want to go eat afterwards because i cant afford it lol....nope cant come, got the parrot lol.

speaking of excuses...
was supposed to go to the movies with frineds last night...
told em i couldnt go, they wanted me to drive an hour one way to pay $12 to get into a movie i didnt realy want to see in the first place then drive the hour home...
would have been about 1/4 a tank of gas at about $15 plus the $12 at the movies, plus some cash for a drink and mabe a snack since the movie wasnt till 8 and id have to leave at about 6 because of traffic.
so i told them i couldnt afford...

and got a right telling off from "the bride" and a couple of others because of it...
what do you mean you cant afford it...its not expensive...we havent seen you in forever...its not THAT far to drive...

*rolls eyes*
i messaged my captains wife, and just let her know exactly what was going on and she said no worries she knew i wasnt afvoiding hanging out and stuff...
so at least the pepole that REALY matter know im not doing it just to be a pain...
but still my so called "best frineds" are complainging that me..without a real job...cant drive an hour one way to pay to see a movie i had no say in picking...

so i said in a half jokinlgy way "well have to have a foxy is poor girls night, yall can come to me, well have a bbq and smores over the firepit and i even have crash space...heck give it a couple more weeks and we'll get the pool opend and make a full day of it!"

my capns wife and capn himself are supposed to come down at some point anyway...so she was all for it...
but the others responce "oh you live too far away from us...its easier to do things up here because we all live in this area..."

so wait...
its not "that far" for me to come visit YOU...but its too far for you to come visit me?! how does that work?! my car is not the tardis, i have no special space time continum controling abiolitles to magically brdige the distance between me and them...so how is it not too far for me to go to them....and yet too far for them to come to me...its not like theres 20 of them, theres no reason they cant car share to save on gas, and the 3 of them with cars have dinky little gas savers that get 25+ to the gallon vs my 21mpg...

our girls night is usually just the 4 of them and me...no need to bring the entire bridal party for a normal girls night so car share and those not driving pitch in for gas, it would cost them no more than $5 a head to get here and back...and id take care of the food and entertainment.

*shakes head*

i love them all i realy do and when we do hang out its alot of fun...
but i have to wonder what kind of freindship it is when im the only one doing the work to see everyone.

It's the kind of friendship you don't need. Years ago, when my son was little, people wouldn't come to visit us because we lived out in the "sticks", and it was too far away. But, they could go equal or farther to someone else' house. I no longer hear from any of those "friends".

your absolutly correct...

in oher news, makning some tough desicions...
trying to sell my fish and my linnies...

i figure if im moving a 1000 mile + move would be too stressfull on the fish, im going to still take my fish tank, but if i can sell my fish, i can then set up my tank when i get around to it and not have to worry about water chemical fluctuations and stuff...

and if im not moving...well at least ill have a little extra cash for next attempt and itll lower my electric bill a little by not having to run the heat and filtration on it 24/7.
i love my fish, and moving them is an option, but potentially an extreemly stressfull one that could result in dead fish...

so if anyones looking to set up thier very own fishtank in ct, im doing the FULL 29 gallon set up for $150 including all the fish and as much water as you can haul with it (itll help reduce shock)

im also selling my linneolated parakeets...so if anyones interested in possibly getting into breeding birds...
there small birds about the size of budgies, and i think the stress of a 1000+ mile move might be a little too much stress on them too, not to mention i dont think im going to have the space for them...
they also arnt getting the kind of attention they realy need, i cant offer them a nest box here and they want to breed, and the cats are way too interested in the cage that its got to be very stressfull in general.

if i move i dont have to worry about them stressing and heart attacking...
if i dont move at least ill know there getting alot more attention.

so yeah if you might be interested, check out the buy/sell/trade section.

youll probbaly be seeing other random bits and bobs pop up for sale too over the next few weeks as im doing some cleaning out.

had a lovely day today...

with mums shoulder incapacitated currently dad has noone to accompany him on his motorcycle rides so today i told him id go along...

it was a LOVELY ride down to kent and then lake warramauge, absolulty beautiful.
i love good motorcycles...

this ones a honda goldwing, and its like riding a sofa lol, i dont think id want a BIG cruiser like the goldwing, but i love motorcyels...
all except those "weeee" bikes (crotch rockets), if you listen to them as they pass it sounds like there wsaying "weeeeee" so i call them "weeee bikes" lol, dont like them, i like bikes that are comfortable to ride, not ones where your bent over the gas tank and your passenger perches precariously on the back. lol

yeah, very nice day, but im kinda tired now...
still i am debating a smoothie by the fire pit tonight now the suns gone down and the skeeters shouldnt be bad.
