Super Self-Sufficient
well our powr was returned to us this morning...
yay...
thankfully my fishtank (which beyond the fridge/freezer was my biggest concern) is still safe and balanced despite no fintration....
the koi pond however didnt do so well, dad just informed me we lost at least 3 of our larger koi
gonna go check in a few mins and see if i can do any damage control...now the filter is back up and running we should be good again...but its so frustrating to loose the big ones, weve nurtured for years!
replacing them would cost $100's per fish belive it or not...
it was kinda frustrating as most of our town had power but our power company wouldnt tell us anything...no "well be in your area on such and such a date" not even a "were working on it" just a "yeah we know *click*"
were paying you people ALOT of moeny eveyr month (they just upped the rates AND the state put an additional tax on your electric bill...
yes that means not only do you pay your electric bill at ahigher rate now...but you also have to pay an additional chunk as a tax on the delivery fee...*fun*
i swear, connecticut woudl tax the tax on your taxes if they could figure out a way to word it so it sounds important.
anywho...were back up a couple days earlier than the media were saying (we were origioanlly told 5-7 days without power)
everything seemed to have fared well, got to check the freezer fully today to be sure nothing in there has partially defrosted/needs to be eaten.
