I'm going to your goodwill, they never have anything at ours!
We have a huge Goodwill Superstore. I was in there today (suprise, suprise :p ), and they were talking about how they are running out of room. They always have something new everytime I go.

Today, I got several glass with bail lids that seal, 2 tall decorative glass containers with cork seals, some nice clear dishes that I can use to give soaps in, and 3 cute little skirts to make into purses.

One of my friends called me today. She asked me if I would be interested in some railroad ties for $2.00 each. Are you kiddin? Sure I would! She had taken down a falling fence along her driveway and had no use for them anymore. So, anywho, I got probably about 30 (mostly good) railroad ties for $60. :weee Funny thing is my DH overheard our phone conversation, and the whole time he was shaking his head No. I suppose he sees something added to the Honey-do List for Fall. ;) I will probably use them for a flower garden border that we've been putting off and a raised bed or two. One will be specifically for raising Sweet Potato Slips.

I thought $60 was such a good price that I sent my friend home with 3 different jellies, some freezer peach jam, zucchini relish, lavender goat's milk soap and a hand-made pocketbook.

BTW, they even delivered!!

WOW for that price I figured you would have to dig them out of their existing spot, load and haul them. Totally COOL! So many uses for those!

The weather this week is supposed to be gorgeous. It is supposed to be sunny, low humidity and highs in he low 80s. It's a good thing because my laundry sure has piled up. The past few days has had showers off and on.

Friday night, we went to DS's best friend's Aunt & Uncles house to eat. We had heard so much about her chicken casserole and we finally got to try it. It was mouthwatering. Her husband is quite the sketch artist. He showed us several of his drawings. He even gave me copies of ones he did of our local dairy farm signed by the founder. I'm going to frame them and hang them in the kitchen.

Saturday night, we went to eat at another of DS's best friend's house. He is the one we went to the Quad National Races with. His uncle from Texas was there. He is a professional Elvis imitator. He even brought his Kareoke machine which was just a whole bunch of fun. They must have really patient neighbors, cause we had that thing blasting till 1 am.

Sunday was just a slow day. Got chicken feed, dog feed and a little people feed, too. I got the green tomato pickles canned that I got from the Amish Saturday. I got a little work done on a quilt that will be a Christmas gift. Then, DH and I settled in to watch the LLWS Championship game.

OK, I'd better get moving. For some reason that laundry just won't wash itself. :/

Great deal on the railroad ties! WOW!

Sounds like you had a wonderful week-end! How terrific that you were able to get the pictures of the local dairy. I used to have a set of pictures of my maternal grandparents' farm, but I lost it in a fire. The farm is no longer..... except in my memory.
