Aly, I can't even think as fast as you move! Major moves on that hobby farm of yours!
Well, try to keep up, will ya :p :gig

Not really major moves, just added more ducks! :D

We found a wonderful home for SIL's pomeranian that she left behind. He's going to be one spoiled rotten dog now. Thank goodness, because I was tired of dealing with him!

Made some decisions for my rabbits. I have 3 does that just aren't working out for what I want them for, and yes, I could eat them, but I've decided to just haul them to the auction. I have 3 young ones coming up we plan to butcher once they are large enough. These does are older, and I'm not sure if rabbits are like everything else? Tough when they get old?

Amos, yes, in peacocks he has a blue shoulder pair, a pair of whites, and a black shoulder. I think he has a pied, or a purple, but I'm not sure. They are pretty to look at, but LOUD. There's no place for them on my farm.

You know, you are going to have to try butchering and eating one of those cute rabbits sometime. :D

Bringing this over from my journal. Yep, Aly I've been spying on you:lol: You make my head my head spin with all you accomplish and I think you are a great example to follow. Plus, you are a fellow Ohioan.

We had some friends in Texas that had some beautiful peahens and peacocks. She let them have the run of her acreage and they slept in the barn lofts or trees at night. They were great for sounding the alarm when something wasn't right.

WARNING: if you are opposed to parents spanking their children as proper punishment, stop reading now, and exit my journal. If you continue to read, consider yourself warned, and don't give me crap about my form of discipline!

DD came running in the house a few minutes ago screaming that her brother had climbed the pine tree in the back yard and knocked out a nest of baby birds. I ran as fast as I could to make sure the cat didn't get the babies. The babies are mostly feathered, and mom and dad are now trying to lead them away from the fallen next.

I have a cat! An outside cat! I'm furious that my kids didn't leave the nest alone, and worried that the stupid cat will get the birds. Yes, I realize, survival of the fittest, and I agree when the game is fair and the cat gets the birds because nature allows it, NOT because my son knocked the bird's nest out.

So there was some arguing as to who actually did it. DS1 had climbed the tree and knocked the nest down. DS2 admitted that he had been in the tree earlier this morning, but the bird nest didn't get knocked down until just a few minutes ago.

We have a paddle. I made my boys assume the position and gave them both a good swatting. I then asked them how would they like it if someone came and shook our house, knocking them out of it? I explained that what they did to those babies would be almost the same as a someone coming and telling us we have to get out of our home. Then I asked them, "Would you like it if someone came and broke up our home and messed up our happy family?" They all said no, but I told them that's just what they did to that little birdie family.

Sometimes raising kids can be soooooooo frustrating!

QA - My daughter (now 30) and a friend of hers did the same thing when they were about 6 years old. Both of them had to assume the position.

Kids do the darnedest things sometimes. I am sure they learned their lesson.

I sure hope they did! It seems they find all kinds of things to get themselves into. Sometimes it's hard to determine if the punishment fits the crime.

In other news....I just found a herd of 7 Alpacas for sale for $1600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :th OR buy a pair for $800!!!!!!!!!!

I'M DYING OVER HERE!!!!!!!! IT'S KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!

Did I tell you the word through the neighborhood grapevine is that my neighbors are getting alpaca? (In the country 1.5 miles away is still a neighbor BTW, especially when I drive by there everyday.:D) They put up the barn over winter, then they moved on to repairing the old house. Yesterday I saw that they are now working on fence. I know this is a new thing for them. They moved out from town to take over the old homeplace. I don't know them or talk to them, though. But I'll let you know when I see the beasts. :)
