I just move the hennys to the GARDEN for the winter months. I spread any compost, spread leaves, spread straw and let them do the fertilizing and tilling for me. Works like a charm!

Mine mostly free range fall/winter, only being closed in on the absolutely coldest days. They don't need any encouragement to get in the garden....it's getting them OUT we've problems with!

Exactly. But confining them in that space for the winter months CONCENTRATES all of that busy digging and pooping for YOUR benefit!

I'll run it by E, it's hard to convince HIM that we need to pen them there.

I know that "I just don't wanna" feeling. I too am suffering from the same disease today. Tons to do plus it has rained all week and everything is sloppy. But, alas, guess I need to get up and get busy. Typing about it won't make it go away. Really, I am about to get up and go get my rubber boots on. I am, I mean it.

Rubber boots?! I'm not even going to bother. I'm putting on my flip flops (really I am) and I'm going out to clear the garden spot....as soon as I'm done typing this...really I am.... and then it's muck out the barn....in flip flops

Wow, it is contagious....I have so much to do today, it is ridiculous, and it is that crazy list taunting me that is keeping me on the computer!

I put my clothes on. (I am just now getting out of my PJ's). Got my socks on. Decided on one more cup of coffee and of course had to sign back on the computer to drink it.

Do you think this is some kind of virus? Maybe its L1DW2W.

Absolutely! That has to be it!!!

Ok, I managed to get half the corn torn out of the garden so far....just finished up having lunch....I hate that once I get moving I have to stop and fix a meal!....and now I'm fixing to head back out and finish tugging out that old corn....then it's muck out the cow barn....I think....might save that for later....or maybe someone else

The chickens and ducks are loving that we're tearing the corn out! Each stalk we toss down, they're stripping of any and all left over corn!
