Nice looking little ones there!! Wow, 4...and I thought 2 were a lot of work! LOL Better get some electric wire for that new pen. How big of an area are you going to raise them in? I had 2 in a 30x30, and it really wasn't enough room to keep them occupied they became the worst diggers!! Congrats on the piggies....they are looking great!!!!!
You might consider running an electric fencing wire on the inside of the pen right now (along one edge) to teach them the meaning. Then when they are big a wire could mean less reinforcement needed to a "final" pen.
Don't ya just love chain link fencing!? It sure is being put to lots of good uses at your place! Much more exciting than surrounding the veg garden or the blueberry patch!
I agree with FF that a wire now would be better for training purposes. Stay back from that fence, little piggie!!
Today is a good day. Yesterday was a better day, I'd say, with the arrival of the piggies, but today has been a close second to yesterday.
Made the bunny swap today, and I worked on getting rabbit hutches cleaned out, fresh straw put in, and all of my hopefully bred does are in their own little hutch.
The two adult does I got today are most likely bred, and possibly due soon, so here's hoping
If they don't have any babies by the end of February, we'll put them back with the buck.
I am letting my other two does take turns with the new buck, and hoping he gets the job done.
So, if it all works out, I should have 6 litters of bunnies this spring.
Which brings to mind a story about MY kiddos when they were little and a costumed Easter Bunny person.
We went to a store where they had an Easter Bunny passing out little stickers to the kids for Easter. My kids (oldest was about 6 or 7) went up to the bunny and got their stickers. Then one of them looked the rabbit in the eye and said, "If you came to OUR house we would eat you."
