I just love hatching those cute little fuzzballs. I wonder if SO would notice if I slipped some duck eggs under our next broody hen?

I better wait till Susie's little group is outside for a while though

Apparantly being snowbound with no end in sight really does make a person go mental.

I spent a couple days convinced we needed to have another baby - well, now i know how to get the husband to agree to chick orders with no argument! I now have an order coming from McMurray hatchery on March 1

I don't really want another baby - five is plenty - I cannot fully describe it or what was going on - other than I am sick of hearing about the SIL and BIL from you know where and how they're having a baby - so I had some issues there. Especially when I put two and two together and realized why the SIL and BIL and the SIL's mom had been very concerned in the last few months on whether or not I was preggers.

So, I wanted to get preggers out of spite. Yea, that's NOT a reason to have a baby. Not at all.

E said he figured that was half my problem, but he was very relieved when I sorted through it all on my own and told him. To which his reply was, "Why don't you order some chicks?"

I didn't want to order 25 chicks, because we just had 17 hatch that I need to sell, and I don't really want any different breeds than what I already have or already have coming in April....

I called friend R over the hill and said, "Wanna split a chick order?" She said sure! Told me which ones she wanted, and I called McMurray.

I am getting 6 Blue Laced Red, to add to my project flock, and only 6 because they have a limit of 6 per customer this year. I am also getting 5 Mille Fleurs - since none of my Milles have survived this winter. The rest of the chicks on the order are all my friend R's chicks.

So we watched some of the Olympics last night, and Survivor - which I liked better than watching Olympics - and then it was off to bed - but not until after we checked on the remaining yet to hatch duck eggs - FOUR pips! whoot!

So, off to bed.

I had one really wild and wacked out dream! It's June-ish time in my dream. First, we were at MP's house, helping replace roof shingles (I dunno if MP even has a shingled roof!). I was "green with envy" because we're helping MP fix his roof - and he has green grass! GREEN GRASS!

So we finish his roof, and he talks about a b-day party he's planning for his DD.

Then it was off for our house...and I'm grumbling about going home because we don't have green grass, we still have 6 feet of snow and it's like JUNE. So we get up our driveway, and I see piles of snow, and where we had shoveled away the snow - green grass! and mud! whoot!

So I let my chickens out in the mud and grass....it was great!!

*pop*

Until I woke up and looked out my window this morning and see the 3 feet of snow outside STILL THERE!! :hit

On the upside, the sun is shining, and it's supposed to go up to 35* today whoot!

Melt baby melt!!!

I also woke up to my second duckling hatchling. She looks just like the first hatchling, but we are still unsure as to whether or not we have fawn and white runners mixed with Welsh Harlequins, or if they are pure Welsh Harlequins.

We still have 3 more pipped, and one of those that looks like it might be trying to zip :fl

So, in the meantime, I'm stuck here in Ohio - and I've lost my mind.
