Lab and heeler cross? That does sound like a good mix. Ours is a lab/aussie mix; we figured we had a 50/50 chance of either a TRAINABLE water dog, or a hyperactive moron. Guess what we ended up with? In her defence, I should say she is very sweet, and she tries very hard to please us.

Thanks for the comments on the pups. A wise member here said right now I need to be concentrating on my baby, and not doggie drama - but I am still going to try to put the word out about them and hope and pray they are adopted. I didn't get to go see them today, but honestly, I'd probably break down and bawl uncontrollably, so for my own sanity, probably better if I stay away.

in the words of ofg - onwards and upwards, right?

So today, Baby Boy had his school physical. CRAP if i didn't forget the papers for the doc to fill out :he They were nice about it, though, and had me sign a no vaccinations wiaver - and then E pips in with, "He has to get the tetanus."

Excuse me? He what? did we NOT discuss this at home and had I said I didn't want it? but I didn't argue, and I really was considering the DTP for the pertussis anyway - but dang wish I had left E at home so I wasn't put on the spot like that.

So I told the nurse he wanted Baby Boy to have the dtp. Which started a whole nother round of questions "do you plan to vaccinate the baby? what about the MMR? we have had cases of the measles, especially with people coming in from third world countries.."

I honestly can't remember what else was asked, because i started to panic at that point and i think the nurse saw me getting ready to take flight out of the office, so she clammed up - until we were called back.

Baby Boy DID NOT want to get on the scale. He screamed, threw himself backwards, etc. Kicked at me as I removed his shoes, and we finally promised to buy him a BIG bag of M&M's if he's just cooperate. That did it. Sorta. He quit the tantrum, but refused to step on the scale. So E stepped on, was weighed, and then stepped off , back on holding Baby Boy and we got Boy's weight that way.

Exam went quick. Doc said he's perfectly fine - and of course he tried to talk us into more than the DTP but I'm proud to say we held our ground, but Doc did encourage (hahaha) us to read the papers they gave us on the shots and do more research, etc. etc. He finished by saying, "You're the parents, it's up to you."

Honestly, until I read the information BB shared, I wasn't anti-vax as much as I was anti-hammer them in every 2 months for the first 2 years. I did ask them about spacing vax's out and not starting them at 2 months, and they were agreeable to that - I think whatever they needed to tell me to convince me to vax?

Anyway, stood my ground and the nurse came in and dosed Baby Boy with the dtp - and he kicked and screamed. E held his arms down and I wasn't much help as I was about to cry and the nurse got the injection in his leg. Baby Boy, as soon as daddy let him go, jumped up to me, his little pants still down, and wrapped his arms around my neck as tight as he could - and I did cry then. (go ahead and laugh or think I'm dumb, I do not care.) I pulled his pants up and carried him to the chair and daddy put his shoes on.

Then we were free of the prison and moved on to my Dr. appt.

Let me say, I LOVE MY DOC. I told her about the vax incident, and how I felt about it, and she told me she's not nuts, that as a MOM, not as a doc, she chose to vax her kids, but that each mom has to make the decision for their kids on their own. She said no one can tell me to or not to vax, that it's something I have to research and pray about on my own. Love my doc!

Anyway, so for my appt, Plan A was I'd go in, she'd say that I was 3 cm or MORE dialated.....and she'd say, "Well, we're going to head over to the hospital and have the baby today."

Nope, didn't happen. :(

She DID say, "You're dialated about a fingertip"
me: I'm what? so I can go today, right?
doc: nope.

Ok crap. So, we move on to plan B.......

Fried Eggplant slices and Romaine Lettuce :D It's what's for dinner tonight! A couple gals over on BYC tried it, and went into labor roughly 4 hours later. Can't hurt to try, right???

So off to the store we went, and got my lettuce and eggplant.

Baby Boy got to spend part of his $10 from grandma and grandpa, too. He chose a noisy little dump truck, and two 88 cent containers of playdough - he's all about playdough right now!

Come home, and I had to pee REALLY bad - got potty and and I GOT MY BLOODY SHOW!! whooot!! now I realize a good reason for that is Doc was uh poking around and probably disturbed things... but ... :fl please let the eggplant and romaine lettuce work

So that's plan B...

Plan C WAS going to be make E help - but he just told me a few minutes ago that he's been having pain radiating down his left arm all. day. and he JUST TOLD ME? :ep So we're holding out for the kids to get home, have my FIL come down and sit with them, and then I'm going to try to MAKE him go to the ER. We'll see if he listens or not.

I told him he is absolutely. not. allowed. to. have. a heart attack. (like I have any say I guess)

so that's the news here. sigh.

Good luck with getting E checked out. Guys can be babies about going to the doc, but that's worth looking into.

Hope the baby comes out quick and healthy for you. :fl

Praying for an easy labor and a healthy baby for you in a short time! :hugs

Isn't walking supposed to help bring on labor too?

Yes, and we did go walking today, and we're going to do more walking. At least I plan to.

E said his arm isn't hurting as bad now, and he doesn't want to go to the ER but I did get him to agree to schedule an appointment with our family doc.

Yay, never till I was pregnant did the words bloody show seems so dang awsome. Haha.

Wont be long now. You'll be missing feeling her kick your insides, or at least i did when I had my last one. Such a precious thing.

Well, congrats on the impending delivery. Sorry that so many things are chaotic around you.

Don't fret the vaccine issue, You do whats best for your children. my daughter was vaxed with whooping cough, mmr or dpt combo or something. She developed the disease within days of the vaccine and stopped breathing during her nap. i checked on her and she was blue. Scared me so bad I jerked her up and smacked her lil chest in to my shoulder, knocking a breath in her. Doc said it saved her life. We flew to the hospital, got her steriods and oxygen and she is fine now. but the d a m n vaccine nearly killer her. I am not a fan. I have vaxed them since but i refuse the chicken pox one and will never give my youngest that one.

i'm totally crabby this morning.

Drinking coffee, and it's staying down, though!

Had to get after the boys, actually all the kids, because they were wrestling in the hall instead of getting ready for school, and big sister was right in the middle of it instead of brushing her hair. UGH.

Then, when we lined them up for inspection and told them they better have the room clean and no clothes on the floor before leaving, we noticed that DS3 didn't have socks on. Told him to go get socks on.

Three boys standing staring blankly at us.

We repeat, go get the room clean, and A get SOCKS on.

Blank stares.

Me roaring: GO NOW! DON'T STAND AND STARE AT US DO WHAT YOU'RE TOLD!

:barnie :he :smack

ok so now they're on it. I think.

to do today - pay bills and walk walk walk.
