Sounds like you will have a marvelous time!!! Enjoy :)

When my friend, Katharyn, was preggers, I stopped by every Saturday to help her clean. I caught up her laundry, vacuumed, scrubbed her bathroom.... I was convinced she was going to tear something open if she pushed a vacuum. :gig

Actually, since the placenta did tear and she almost bled to death and this is, apparently, a family trait with all births, I might've been right. So woot.

HAHA ya'll!

No bumpy rides, no baby, my water didn't even break/leak, etc. and not one single contraction.

Though I will admit that I hurriedly finished packing MY hospital bag this morning just in case anything should happen while in town with Becca. Then I tossed my bag and baby's bag in the trunk of our car, so E wouldn't have to worry about grabbing and loading them if he got a phone call :D

We had my FIL and Becca's mom on standby to make calls or sit with kids, just in case.

All that prep for NOTHING.

sigh.

But, that's Ok. Now she has to wait until at least Thursday, because Wednesday is an important day for E and I want to be there for him, and not in the hospital.

We went to the quilt store - and I bought nothing! Though there were things that were VERY TEMPTING to get! But, I was good!

Then we went on to the grocery - and I love grocery shopping with Becca because she likes shopping for healthy options, too! I also bought a new yogurt to try make from almond milk - no soy, no gmo's, no dairy. Don't know how I'll like it, but I was curious.

Also bought a coconut to crack open so my kids can try the milk - and get this, I bring home a coconut and E is super excited about it! Says he LOVES coconut milk! 13 years married and I didn't know this??!! I said if I had known, we'd have been buying it!

I also splurged - big time - and bought 1 FRESH swordfish steak (will not talk about the price of it). E loves to eat fish, and neither of us have had swordfish before, so I said that was our splurge for this month. I'm marinading it in an olive oil/sweet vinegar dressing and grilling it for lunch tomorrow. I told E not to expect it often no matter how much he likes it!

After we finished with the groceries, we stopped at Lowe's so I could run in and get the blades E needed for his saw. :) That was the fastest stop as Becca stayed in the car with Baby boy.

Came home and the pot roast I had tossed in this morning was ready to eat, so had dinner and even let my FIL eat with us - though he was REALLY getting on my nerves. I was still nice :D

I also got to meet the lady Becca is getting goat milk from! She's super nice and even told me to let her know if I need any help after the baby is here! I asked help with what? she replied laundry or anything! :th I thought wow, and I JUST met her! How cool!!

So that's the scoop here...Oh and I did have some quilt squares arrive in the mail that I'm super excited to get sewing with!!

Happy Saturday!!

Ok, so technically it's 7 days from tomorrow, but we're closing in on Baby Day!

Today I spiffed up the kitchen, and organized and re-organized Baby Girl's clothes.

I think she has more clothes than me and E combined. :/ I took 2 tote tubs, and in one have everything bigger than 6 months and in the other everything smaller than 6 months but bigger than 3 months. Her dresser now holds just the newborn and 0-3 months clothing items.

All of her blankets, diapers, wipes, hooded towels and wash cloths are now all on her changing table - so is her collection of stuffed animals :p

DD helped me organize everything and then she helped me put the crib bedding set I was given on the crib. Boy, that was a job.

Watched some of the 9-11 memorial today, but I really can't stomach watching the footage over and over again, so after awhile we turned the t.v. off and focused on just our family and house. (no offense is meant by this.)

I had done a quick pack of my bag yesterday morning, and today I pulled it out and added a few "extras" to it (like the underwear I forgot lol): a couple books I've borrowed from Becca, a cross stitch that I've been working on forever (not that I think I'll feel up to working on it, but one just never knows I guess) and Baby Girl's Baby Book (can't forget that!)

So, I'm all ready. I go back and forth to wishing she was here already to disbelief and a surreal feeling of there's going to be a baby soon. It's like we've done all this prep, but it hasn't sunk in that soon there really WILL be a baby to use all this stuff....wow....

I dunno what's wrong with me :D

Nothing wrong with you at all, sounds 100 percent normal, you are just nesting and getting ready for the arrival of another family member.
It is good it wasn't today, September 11th would be a crappy day to have a birthday. My mom was born on Pearl Harbor day and hates sharing her day with that event.

I had thought the same thing, and I will admit I prayed all day that she didn't come yesterday - because my family is very patriotic, and most of my male cousins, 3 of my brothers, most of my uncles, several aunts, and even my mom have served in a branch of the armed forces. I just knew if she came yesterday they would all focus more on, "She was born on the 10th anniversary of 9-11" and the day would never be about her at. all.

Anyway, today's the 12 YAY. The sun has rose again, and I've thought of a couple more little things to add to my hospital bag that I forgot (like socks and chapstick and an extra pillow). Baby Boy was watching me pack yesterday and he said, "Are you leaving, Mommy?" and daddy said, "Yep, she's flying the coop!" That caused some serious tears for a minute! I had to explain that we were getting ready to go "get our baby". He was OK with that.

I'm afraid today is going to be another long day for me.

Slap daddy, scaring baby boy like that! :smack :duc

I know several people born on Christmas day, and while it should be an honor, it ends up being a pain in the tush for their families. At least you know it won't be THAT long!
