I've been the lucky gal on the receiving end on this forum, twice. Thesimplelife knew I was interested in Barefoot Beekeeping and mailed me her copy just to be sweet. And just today I received "Green Goblin" seeds in the mail from Farmfresh, just cuz I had been asking about her incredible pumpkins on an earlier thread.

Thanks guys! You are great!

We have had a number of blessings lately! God has richly blessed us and we are still spinning from all the generousity we have experienced! :bow

Some friends of friends had an old 1880 farmhouse for rent (on their property of 85 acres) and they let us do work on the place in exchange for a portion or all the rent.

The Men's Sunday class came and spackled and painted walls and ceilings of our 300 sq foot dining and living room. They also helped replaced broken glass in doors and windows.

One couple in town had a like new stove and refrigerator they didn't need - so we got it.

An angel at church bought us a brand new Sears washing machine!!

A local woman got a new washer and had a large Maytag dryer she no longer wanted because it did not match her washer. Someone from church delivered it to our house!

We were at the grocery and saw a sign - buy a ham, get a turkey for free. So we did - and donated both to the community meals at church. Both were 10+ pounds each.

December, 2007: I'm stopped in my car at a red light, and the tow-truck, en route to a crash, stops, then bumps into my rear bumper. You, see, something had rolled on the floor of his truck, and his foot slipped off of the brake. There was NO damage to my car (none to his front rubber bumper,) and the towing service had already called the police. The officer arrives and we drive to the nearest parking area. I said, "No damage, no charges." I KNOW that I made his day! :D

Excellent, D4Y! I know I wouldn't certainly be happy if someone did this for me! :D

Well, I tried the Random Paying for a Stranger's Meal the other day.....I watched her face to see if this was a welcome gesture as she stood at the register.

No change in her expression whatsoever! She just said okay, picked up her purse and walked out..... :th She looked about 76 years old, eating by herself. Thought I had picked a likely candidate, but will try to pay for a single mother next time~bet she will be tickled! :p

Further research is needed, it is plain to see...... ;)

Maybe she was in shock? Could it be no one had ever been nice to her that way before? Maybe it did not hit her till she got in her car? :idunno

 I don't know, but her expression changed not a wit.....funny, huh? :p

I wanted to watch and see if it was a pleasant or an embarassing experience for the victim....that way I could know if I wanted to repeat this effort. Now I will have to do it again and watch..... darn it! :D

It was kind of fun, though, I must admit. Sort of like a Secret Sister thingy at church...being sneaky to be kind is my sort of thing! :p
